A well deserved 10 for sure. I was 13 and saw this live on the tv. To say I was stunned is an understatement. I was absolutely blown away. No question, hands down, one of the greatest live performances ever period. The energy in the song/performance at this specific show could not go any higher.

This song was played at my cousin's girlfriend's funeral. She was 18 and took her own life, leaving behind a son who was an infant at the time. To this day, it is still a mystery why she did what she did.

This was the peak of GNR.. they were the best band of the planet at that time.. I decided to play drums after watching Matt playing majestically when I was 11 years old.. I had the VHS of both parts 1 and 2, and when GNR come on stage tou could see they were different.. we had Extreme, Def Leppars and Mettalica before.. but when they played, they owned the stadium.. and this performance represents their best phase!

According to a study, Axl Rose has the SECOND greatest vocal range in rock. Mike Patton is number 1.
@alexnagy2044
@alexnagy2044 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. But in another way, this technically just not so healthy, (like Kurt Cobain who caught up blood after years.) And listen nowadays a Guns N' Roses live...Axl's voice is over unfortunately. But the range is so powerful. Respect!

Both my favourite singers too!! But Mike Patton sings better today somehow than 20 years ago! He's a technically incredible vocalist whereas Axl rose was raw power and emotion....
@iad77

@@matinmirnaghibi5846I just watched the latest show from Hollywood bowl on YT and he sounds"better" than he has in a while.... Thing is I understand he can't have the same voice as 36 years ago or even 31 years ago that's why I think they should stop the touring and record new material that Axl can comfortably sing.... He's still got the power and range but not the same higher range compared to when he was in his 20s .... The non stop touring back in the day destroyed his voice I think they set the record for most shows between 92 and 94?

Wow a 10! 😍😍 I love it! So I think maybe you heard the Japan version of heavens door? I think that was played a lot around the time, plus it was bootlegged a ton.... I think this was Axl still in his prime, his voice was still strong at the time. That's Gilby Clarke on rhythm guitar. Izzy stradlin left the barn in 91 before the illusions tour. (And with him the soul of the band btw) It really was their best ever live performance of the track... If we're talking live performances then I think the concert that stands out the most from that era for guns is the one pro recorded and televised in Paris.... Love the channel, long time viewer and please please for the sake of all that is holy react to Dream on by Aerosmith but it has to be the MTV birthday performance..... It's genuinely one of the most amazing live performances of any song I've ever heard, and I've been listening to it since 95 😂

Beating U2 Albums, Metallica Albums, And Nirvana Albums in The MTV Music Video Award. TBH my favorite rendition of the song was the one at Rock Am Ring 2006, its played differently but I really like it (maybe you can react to it lol), not to say this one isnt just as great. thanks for the review! Dont worry about catching flak for making fun about Axl. Most people understand its a joke and its no personal attack or anything, but i do kinda side in that after all we gotta cut these ppl some slack, they are old and not getting any younger, not every person will be in as good shape as they were in their 20s. I think the problem is that fans have grown tired of that joke, because i mean, Axl has been singing in a clean voice since over 24 years ago and actual haters still cant get over it, like, they talk about it as if they wanted to beat axl up lmao. We die hard fans know Axls performance may be a hit or miss on live shows, and it always has been that way since the 80s, but we go for it because of the love we have for the band, the energy, the stage presence and legacy of these guys. In any case, you are allowed to like it or dislike it, its your opinion and its not harming anybody, but jeez, people in the comments can get so intense, its kinda like football fans, if you dare say anything about their team they dont like, they will jump to your neck lol
