I think "submission" is more accurate, because "loyalty" is supposed to be 2-way, and it doesn't require repression of who you are as a person, or obedience to the other person. I haven't read the book yet, but I will. Regarding the warning about ruthless autocrats, America's "elected" autocrat has been chosen (unfortunately) within the rules of a democratic formula, or something similar for the lack of better words. Can an election where it is obvious who wins the presidency called "rigged" ? Can a nation claim the title "democracy" if the governing structure is so clearly autocratic, as attested by revered scholars and historians. All this conflicting questions about Americas political discourses arriving at the same conclusion, America isn't a great nation at all, it is more a blueprint of civil abnormality and will rather fit the likeness of a rogue fascist nation !
