Joe Biden is an honourable man and even if he has some downsides, he was and is vastly preferable to Trump. He has been sliding downhill in terms of mental sharpness and physical stamina for some time (so has the former guy), but it became very diffiicult to launch any open conversation about it because Trump had chosen to remain on the front stage after he left the White House, openly questioning whether Biden was legally or morally fit for the job and taking every chance to run his "stolen election" talk machine. POTUSes who have stepped down from office normally acknowledge their successor and stay put of everyday politics, out of respect for the Office and the Republic if nothing else - but Trump has been acting like a King in exile, a guy who feels he was wrongly chased from the Oval Office. He has constantly been harping on the "Joe is a sen1le co.n" theme, and this steady campaigning to paint Biden as the worst kind of figure made it very hard to admit/discuss any signs of aging witjout having it pulled into a cheap sh*t-sl1nging match. I wouldn't say that Biden is clinically se>nilix, but he had become too old and weak to run for this demanding office again.
