Nevermind that he said multiple times prior to being elected that the President has ultimate responsibility for his citizens...and criticized Obama's leadership at every opportunity. Other countries dealt with this better, we know it originated in China, we know they handled it badly. But the rest of the world has had stark differences in response. He's now trying to push the narrative that other countries are having new surges...and while that is true, most are not as high as the US surge that began over 2 months ago. He brings up China, who topped 100 cases on more than one day and acted fast to contain it. Australia... daily triple figure case rises, have put into place strict local lockdowns. As have Spain...the UK rapidly locked down a major city after a spike in cases, so quickly in fact that the locals had virtually no warning.

HOWEVER, positivity rates in the US remain substantially higher than other developed countries. It’s a critical distinction.

@@krusher74 I don't think it's a matter of their being uneducated...I think in some cases it has to do with CONTROL, and fear of losing prestige or losing a job. I've seen a lot of interviews of Trump, and there were so, so many questions that I often felt SHOULD'VE been asked of him in the interviews... OBVIOUS and NECESSARY questions that would've made Trump trip over his own tongue, and expose himself as being either hypocritical, self-contradictory or grossly incompetent, but those kinds of questions are usually NEVER asked. That frustrated the hell out of me as an American citizen. Making the President look foolish in front of the world would no-doubt be a fireable offense; probably get you locked out of future press briefings, banned from the White House and/or vilified over social media... not to mention you'll be a prominent subject of Trump's Twitter rants! IF you fear facing ANY of what I mentioned above (and they KNOW you are), you will be like putty in their hands. Once an Enemy knows your fear, you can be CONTROLLED by that fear. Swan's Australian. In Australia, we get political interviews of this quality pretty much daily. As an Australian, it's endlessly frustrating to see how easy it has been for Trump to evade such scrutiny. And I don't think Australia is the outlier here. From what I've seen, the same goes for pretty much every other developed democracy. It's the US that's the odd one out. While the US has some excellent journalists, it's possible for a President to avoid ever being interviewed by them to a degree that's just unthinkable to outsiders.

Trump is just so used to a sycophantic toadying "press" who don't dare ask difficult questions for fer of losing access to the white house that he doesn't know how to answer the questions of a person he can't threaten into submission. When David said that this interview would be even more damning than the one with Chris Wallace, I was skeptical. I didn't think that was possible. Nope. This interview blows that one out of the water. And keep in mind, this doofus is the president of the United States. People actually support him. If you were a manager at a McDonald's, and somebody was this incoherent in a job interview for a janitorial position, would you hire them? This guy has _nuclear weapons_ at his disposal.

If the Chris Wallace interview was a basement, this one was the sub-basement. And given an opportunity, Trump will then build a sub-sub-basement... then a sub-sub-sub-basement... then, etc.

I suffer from crippling low self esteem and bad self worth. I’m good enough at drawing to know I’m no where near good enough At drawing. I’ve read enough subjects as a layman to know I’ll never master any of them without devoting my life to learning. I actually wish I was full of unwarranted importance and egomaniacal. I’d probably be a ceo or at least a Instagram influencer and not in my 30s with a degree, no real career , no hope of buying a house . Maybe I should just shove an ice pick through my nose into the frontal cortex and join the maga train.

@@BenBarredo Assuming he loses, I think he will squander it. Mostly fighting the results of the election, trying to convince people he was cheated, challenging it in court, ordering Barr to investigate the election, doing anything he can to undo the result. Not that that isn’t damaging, but other than the Barr party, it won’t be an abuse of the office. Thinking about six weeks of that before the Supreme Court rules 9-0 against him as the nation’s Christmas present. Then one more week of sulking, playing the victim, trying to start a civil war on his behalf. Then a mad scramble to pardon anyone and everyone that could incriminate him.

@@xwarrior760 Yes, we *_do_* realise that is what he was trying to say - with the help of his pretty piece of paper displaying a world with just four countries (presumably, his aides thought a world with anything more than four countries would be just too much for his brain to comprehend. Indeed, even this simple graph seemed to present somewhat of a challenge to him). So let me express myself differently, in the hope that my meaning will become clearer to you. In this alternative and increasingly dystopian _Alice in Wonderland_ America-according-to-Trumpspeak, we have in that statement, unwittingly on his part, an extraordinary and painfully tragicomic distillation of Trumpspeak upside-down truth : 4% of the world's population. 25% of the world's covid cases and deaths. _"We're the best_ 😍😍. _Yeah!!!"_
