I think the worst thing about flunder is, that there is almost no "outplaying" if the flunderplayer opens better then you, he will win 9 times out of 10. If you open better, same thing.

@@conrad5359 well, that's an opinion. Here is mine: Tear is the worst deck I have faced in years, including scythe locks and ftks. This is the only format I played Flunder and other floodgate strategies in 5 years bcz Tear FORCES you to play floodgates or the mirror. Hell, I played in Pend vs True Draco format, slugged through Firewall ftks and it was never as boring as playing against Tearshizu. The turn 0 combos they can do is obnoxious. The fact that they take years, causing a surge in Dogwood and life point gain cards in side is stupenduos. They outright ignore the fusion mechanic and the grave effects in the deck are just breaking the concept of GY itself. I agree that the mirror can be skilled (until it turns to Dweller turbo) but so was Zoodiac and Nekroz. These tier 0 formats should not exist, Orcust-Salad-Striker matches were much more fun & better as a format. Again, opinion.
@minmaxed5297
@minmaxed5297 Жыл бұрын
Wait you're saying tearlament, a deck with alot of room for skilled play where you can use commonly used meta cards to beat your opponent is better than every deck in the meta being on scythe turbo, they drew blockdragon/no ht vs admancipator, vfd turbo, multiple ftk formats in 2018, gouki extra link + handrip were all better formats?

i think the most frustrating thing about flunder is not that it’s a glorified barrier statue stun deck, but that the deck sacks into blowout cards like DRNM + evenly because the engine is completely unable to break boards
@dascher6769

Worst part is that its a cheesy stun deck. Like, I get things like putting up negates and other interactions, but Floo capitalizes hard in the aspect of the opponent just *not playing* period. Like not even attempting to play (i.e. Enpen). Barrier statue locks you, then they Raiza your normal summon and GG. Games 2 and 3 they side into shit like Feather storm that for some ungodly reason isn't specific to harpies, all while letting the blow outs do all the work for them. Its one of the most uninteractive decks in existence since it just sits there while you legit can't do shit.

Hello DB Grinder, although I'm a big fan of your content and teachings, I have to politely disagree with you on the Eglen effect to Normal Summon ruling (at about 6:30). The key is the Eglen text states "[…] then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 Winged Beast monster." Since Eglen is chain link 1 and hence the last effect to resolve in its chain, the timing "immediately after this effect resolves" occurs after the entire chain has resolved, and thus after Advent is sent to GY. Regard another example of "immediately after this effect resolves […] summon a monster": if you activate Tri-Brigade Revolt as chain link 1, you summon the monsters, send the Revolt to GY since the entire chain resolved, and then perform the Link Summon. I cite the precedent the Link Summon performed by Revolt as chain link 1 can be stopped by Solemn Strike as evidence that the summon applies after the chain has resolved, since you cannot use Solemn Strike to negate a Special Summon while a chain is resolving. Therefore the Eglen effect as chain links 1 also occurs after the chain resolves in which case it is acceptable to send Advent to GY before performing the additional Normal Summon afforded by Eglen. Thank you for understanding my position and keep up the cool videos.

12 minutes into the video and I can't finish. You're 100% a rule shark. Sending Adventure to the grave early is not a clear indicator that the chain is over and he's using is mechanic normal summon. You are 100% a rule shark. You were losing the duel and rule sharked him so the veiler would mean something, as it was your only way to survive. Then you insult his deck while playing a complete meta slave deck, then you start going on about the swords misplay. And you think he's the toxic one...
@TheDBGrinder

@aspiringgirl4422
@aspiringgirl4422 Жыл бұрын
@@TheDBGrinder like I said, I didn't finish. I didn't make it to the 13th minute because the video was so bad and you were being so hypocritical. The whole video, at least the first 13 minutes, you go on about him being so salty, when you were the obviously salty one from what I saw. You got Dark Rulered, then decided to let the toad response start to go to a judge call because to refused to explain that you're just using the toad effect to put him in grave. Whenever I'm in a similar situation (I play a deck with skill drain) I always explain that the effect is negated and I'm just paying cost to put something in grave or whatever. Then you became a total rule shark with the adventure going to grave early. That's the most rule sharky thing I've ever seen. Veiler was your only way to stop your opponent's combo, so you thought you could rule shark him so the veiler stopped his play entirely. And if that doesn't show how salty you were, you insulted his deck (while playing the lamest no brain meta slave deck), then decided to go on about how he miss played just to insult him some more. So yeah, you can't blame me for not watching the whole video.

Yes technically speaking by rules all activated cards go to grave after a chain fully resolves, no argue there. Had this been a YCS im so sharking that, but as its db and this is such a common play like why would he not use the extra normal summon effect of his floow monster there, it is a bit of rule sharking.
