It’s a fun car and I think as long you have Manual you’ll enjoy it. But. There is big difference of power from the modern mustangs. They have higher redlines and that’s when that extra 100hp come to play. While your shifting at 5900 -rpm they got a lil bit more range for shifts So for the money under 10k there worth it. Ps the 4.6 sounds better then a 5.o

The one downside of the S550's is curb weight. They are around 300 lbs heavier than the S197's, mainly because of the IRS, which is noticeably heavier than the SRA of the S197

A 3V doesnt need much to keep up with a stock coyote from a dig. See what happened when they started from a roll on the highway? The 3v got pulled on top end even with all those mods. It's fairly light modded I'm so tired of hearing this bs from coyote guys. Of course mod for mod the coyote wins it had 1.5-2.5 points of compression plus more displacement, more head flow because 4v, more tech etc. People act like you gotta boost a 3v to run with a stock coyote that clearly isn't the case. People always undersell the 3v and oversell the coyote as if there is far more difference in performance than there actually is. I'm not saying the coyote isn't better I'm saying it isn't nearly as much better as coyote fanboys and 3v haters act like.

​@@tynstaci all it takes is couple of the right mods it makes a world of difference. .car has a mid pipe, mufflers, cams, Ford racing intake and gears with a 93 tune so it is significantly faster than a stock 3v despite being fairly light modded. You're highly underestimating what mods like that do for ya. It isn't all about rwhp so don't start quoting hp numbers. People act like it takes boost for a 3v to keep up with a stock coyote that is false and this video and others proves it. Just because a coyote is alot faster stock for stock doesn't mean a nicely modded bolt on cammed 3v can't run with a stock one.

The 05 to 09 Mustang imo is the best looking out of the 80's and up models. Especially compared to the current body styles. They also started the retro trend and the Challenger continued it. I had a modded 07 GT500 and I miss it every day

I was born in 1997, so as a kid when I saw the 5th gen mustang's driving around I fell in love with the mustang. Yes the 4th gen was driving around at the time, but as a kid they didn't stand out to me like the 5th did. I just kinda thought the 4th gens looked like any other car in my mind at the time. Any 5th gen mustang is a dream car for me.

I love the 3v s197. I think the engine sounds better. The transmission is feels more alive. There's less buttons everywhere and screens, you feel the road more. It's definitely a raw driving experience. I've had a supercharger on my stock block pushing 500rwp and 470TQ for 6 years. The 4.6L is bullet proof as long as you're not bouncing it off redline. Imo other than the production of the terminator in early 2000, the s197 was the best produced mustang up until this point. Great platform to build on and feels like a real muscle car with that traction control off. Obviously the Shelbys of this Era are alot more powerful, and the 350R is a track ready monster but other than the power, it just doesn't feel quite like the s197, terminator, or even the late 80s early 90s 5L fox bodies.

I have a boosted 05 as well, she's running about the rwhp as you. I had a 16 GT350 and I loved driving it but I just couldn't like the body style. The S197s have the best styling, I agree with you, I customized my 05 now and it only goes to car meets and shows now. I ordered it in 05 and got it for memorial weekend. I did learn my lesson that they can't handle the boost, motor blew on a dyno and had to replace the block lol

From what I was told, it wasn't tuned correctly and was running way too lean. I called Ford when it happened, I remember them telling me that the 4.6 3v couldn't handle anything over 450hp without the lower end of motor being modified.

It’s the headers that sound so good. The coyote is the best sounding v8 sold, when set up similarly to this 4.6… I took a stock 2021 gen3 coyote and installed a roush air box/throttle body and 93 tune, paired with a corsa sport cat back. It did come with the brembo performance package but that’s all I’ve done and I bet I have 100hp over this 5.0 These new coyotes are coming very restricted from the factory.

The coyote absolutely doesn't sound better than the older mod motors. 4.6 4v and 5.4/5.8 4v sound better most people agree with that. If you like that super loud annoying raspy high pitch sound sure they're awesome. I can't stand the headers, catless x, corsa extreme coyotes you see everywhere because they think louder = better. I love a loud exhaust but louder doesn't = better.

I blew my 5.0 HO to SMITHEREENS, Tech said that the block was halved perfectly like I cut it on a bandsaw! I got a 4.6 aluminum block from a 96 Cobra bored to 5.3 and built it myself with the best parts I could afford. Got trick flow top end, lt headers, magnaflow catback, cai with ice box, superchip & tune. Engine made 1080 with boost(not my turbo), but I tried to take it home anyway.

Just follow your heart. I have a 2004 4.6 mach 1 5 speed when I bought it it was fast. They just keep making faster cars. When you get your dream it will be compromised.

Being the one source of income in my family I didnt have the time nor money to bring it back from the dead ! Loved that new edge but it was time for an UPGRADE !!!! @@STANGm06deGT I personally love the 94-98s some of the most hated stangs ever right there with the IIs but come on man you must not have treated the ole stang right for all that to be happening. But glad to hear your happy with the newer stang. Anything past the SN95 is just not a stang to me anymore to much foreign influence its losing touch with its roots it's becoming terrible not quite spaceship looking camaro bad but pretty close. The 00 was also totalled back in 2014. I chose to keep the car, insurance fixed it but it was never the same after that. Oh and the 05-10 is the last of that raw, american made look and feel and a lot of people agree with that statement. Its after that it starts getting more european"ish". It still has a great sounding 3V 4.6, looks like a classic Mustang, & they have cheap plastic interior parts.

I'm a proud owner of both and I still love driving my 3v more. I dislike the sluggish off the line feel my coyote. As it get into rpms it definitely shows its superior side to the 3v.
