In Philippsthal habe ich Anfang der80er Jahre öfters gestanden und zur Brücke nach Vacha geschaut und nie daran geglaubt, dass die Grenzen einmal wegfallen würden!

Is "Club Liberty" still in Phillipsthal? That was our go to spot after the border opened.

Hoping to find a way back to Germany to visit that doesn't cost me an arm or leg.

The last time I checked the airfare was less if I flew into Paris and not Frankfurt. I believe both are about the same distance from Hersfeld ..Trust but Verify

The Deitz I also thought about taking a hop over but not sure how easy it would be to get one to Frankfurt or Ramstein

Let me know if you have any luck. Too bad UPS and Fedex don't allow that. I'm sure they have room for one more person ...

Per our facebook group via Ron Bramlett "Yes, it's Geisa, where the Point Alpha Academy is located." AKA Point Alpha Musume :-)

artifactman660 Great, what year? Ron who gave the name of the town, his father was in Bad Hersfeld in 1948. His uniform is on display at the OP Alpha Museum. I did a youtube of a 2005 and 2009 visit to the OP Alpha.
