My husband was stationed in Bad Hersfeld in 1990-91. I am currently writing a book about the US military presents in Germany between 9 NOV 1989 and 9 NOV 1993. Those were probably the most dynamic years during the Cold War for US Forces. Thank you for your service. I too am an US Army veteran, but served from 2003-2006.

Thank you for this video! It brought back so many memories. My dad, Sgt John (Jack} Wilson, was stationed there from 1964 to 1968. He was a tank commander with K troop.

I was stationed there around 1972. I was in the 3/11th cavalry unit. I had a great time there and the German people treat me well. I remember that the billets were heated with steam pipes. If anyone has a picture of Herman's bar I would like to get a copy of it.
