Namibia is beautiful!!! I’m a South African living in Nam as we affectionately call Namibia. As for the Skeleton Coast believe me you do want to visit that place, I mean you won’t get lost cos you obviously will get taken there! But it’s a rare beauty, one of the few places in the world where you see the desert, absolute dryness meet the Ocean!!! You will learn about plants such as the Welwitschia Mirabilis, the national plant of Namibia which grow in the desert, how does it survive! You can’t have the experience Europeans had in 1650, for obvious reasons such as the fact that it’s not 1650, there are planes and cars especially suited for driving on that terrain. What gave Europeans problems back then was the fact that the place can get windy so it would push their boats in wrong directions where they would end up dying when they run out of food and water because there’s no food and no animals to hunt!!! Namibia is named after the oldest desert in the Subsaharan region, the Namib desert! You can go see how some animals are still able to survive on this desert! Then there’s the Sossousvlei ! This is like a pan, a big pan in the middle of the dunes (Namibia has some of the highest dunes)…at times, when the rest of the desert is dry, the Sossousvlei will be holding some water, an interesting thing to see from an aerial view! Lastly on the Atlantic Ocean being cold, this is not news, it’s in Social science books. Cold water from Antarctica flows into the Atlantic Ocean through the Benguela current. This runs down the coast line from North West Africa, down past the coast of Angola and down the Namibian coast line which is along the Atlantic Ocean. This is what makes the Atlantic Ocean colder than the Indian Ocean!

Hi guys so to clarify a little. German is taught in a handful of schools, 3 in the capital to be exact. the indigenous languages are taught in schools and you can choose which school to send your child to depending on which language you want them to learn. German is a minority language even in the schools it's taught, it's optional for the kids not mandatory. English is the official language because there are so many ethnic groups, at least everybody meets at one point. Also the country has a heavy German influence yes but you have to consider that some people are 2nd or 3rd generation here, we can't just kick them out y'all, 😅 some germans are mixed so they are considered just one of the other ethnic languages to be inclusive.

Namibia was 1st Germany colony in 1884 during partition of Africa but lost colony at end of 1st World War to British South africa coz that time SOUTH africa was a British colony. Therefore British South african troops invaded Namibia to fight the Germans here. Since the German soldiers were few, they surrendered but they didn't go back to Germany as contrary to what happened in other Germany colonies. Therefore after defeat of Germany in 1st World War, the United Nations trusteeship council decided to Give British South africa to administer Namibia until it gets independence but later South africa exceeded its mandate by moving lots of white south africans to Namibia to occupy land. 30 yrs later after 1915, the inside resistance movements against apartheid started until independence. Therefore SA used force to illegally occupy Namibia against UN mandate. Moreso, Namibia is dry along the entire west coast coz its desert entire coastline. Desert portion of namibia is about 25% of whole its land mass.
