That dance is the warriors dance performed by intore ( the chosen ones) and the sounds in background is called ibyivugo: “praises” every intore got their praises which explains their achievements so ibyivugo is basically the identification of intore (how he introduce himself “His marks”) so if you ask intore who he is; he starts by reciting his ikivugo which might come out as a freestyle 😂 that why where intore is dancing there’s always ibyivugo (their praises)

This is the cow dance. More like a representation of wealth/blessings. The perfomers are wearing what is supposed to be leopard skin(which symbolises courage, tenacity and also spiritual) worn long ago by adorned worriors and comes with spear as well. The stretching of the arms represent the horns of the cattle mostly from the region similar to the Ankole cattle.

There are more than just one dance in Rwanda that was the warrior dance but they are others where they all dance together and of course not forgetting that woman also have their own dances

The people dancing are called Intore, Intore means chosen one, in the past, the Intore where the army’s/warriors of the king, the warriors dance was mostly performed for the king,and the performers were always intore/warriors. Now we have no king,but to honor and being able to keep our cultural and traditions in existence the dance is performed in weddings and other cultural ceremonies.
