IIRC the devs are "Steel balalaika", formerly russian "Wargame" youtubers who started the development process literally because they didn't like the state of "Red Dragon" and initially just wanted to create "their own wargame". Their first ever social media presence IIRC was via russian "Vk" social media (if we don't count their YT channels). So unless something changed drastically and im not aware of it - they are, at least initially, russian. Now don't get me wrong, its not like anything is wrong with french team lead and/or multicultural teams, but my initial argument still stands - would be weird to see a team like that use "funny accents" instead of actual language. PS: i would assume the russian part of the dev team moved out of Russia since 2022.

@@vitorossi7839 Ok, I just found that while a large majority of their dev team is EX-Eugen devs, including the lead dev Felix (meaning multicultural), there is a contingent of Russian Devs who are specifically NOT EX-Eugen devs. So on one aspect, yes there are some Russians within the dev team, and their inclusion is significant enough for it to be specified by some outside of the company (so I'm assuming they are those KZbinr's you talked about); however a large majority of the dev team is not Russian, so I still think that the original comment doesn't make much sense. Though I do highly respect your well thought out response; sometimes disagreements in a comment section can get so goddamn tiring, so it's refreshing to not have someone react with hostility

@@Dragon-77D9 even if most of the team is not Russian the HQ of Steel Balalaika is in Russia so it is a Russian Game even if some of the dev team is multicultural and that the lead dev is French the studio is Russian

3:53. It’s only a war crime if it’s an ejection or bail out. At that point the pilot or crewman is a non-combatant. Paratroopers are not protected by that convention.

Upon reaching the ground in territory controlled by an adverse Party, a person who has parachuted from an aircraft in distress shall be given an opportunity to surrender before being made the object of attack, unless it is apparent that he is engaging in a hostile act. Airborne troops are not protected by this Article. And you know the best part ?? it only took me 5 seconds to find this information online

Press the lower altitude button once the plane spawns my guy, every plane/heli can do low altitude drops skimming the trees and they work fantastically. Also makes it harder for AA to shoot down, as well as it gets spotted later. also that dudes advice of "don't bring planes" yeah no, that's a shit idea. Giving up the air at the beginning of every match is asking for your entire ground push to get bombed. Which I have done lots of times in the Closed Beta when they give me Air Superiority for free. If everyone just gets 1 ASF, then you cover your bases and don't hurt your deploy points too much.

paradropping was a total meme anyway in closed beta. Unless you have teammates plotting alongside you to mass drop while some guys provide air, it's basically just free kills for the other team.

Some incremental improvements over previous competitors, I like the changes to how calling in units works compared to wargame/warno. Sadly I think this is a hard pass for me as the devs just said they will be continuing the DLC 'policies' of these previous games as well, and even tried to justify it as "successful games always have DLCs, like Starcraft or C&C!" - Do I have to explain why that is flawed? Because modern DLCs are nowhere near the quality and content of 'Expansions' of old, they're just tiny factions of the game shaved off and put behind a paywall, often at the expense of the base game itself because content ends up being taken out to sell as DLC later.

Most engagements don’t even last 5 seconds, being able to tell what’s going on is more based on the units icon and visual cues tied to it

Yes, you can. This includes any airborn vehicle such as Sprut-SD for instance. Murica is able to paradrop LAVs as well. You can even load BMD into russian Mi-26 helicopter.

Are there possibilites to counter the AA with ECM planes ? In real life russia and the USA both have planes dedicated to fight AA from air. Of course patriot or S 400 systems are very hard to counter. But at least the mid range AA systems can be countered by jets dedicated to this role in real life.

Your in control over the entire battlefield, not a small portion of it, it requires constantly having an overview to track what not only your teammates are doing, but spotting launches of arty, AA, or inbound enemy units.

My biggest issues with games that feature brand new types of systems is that they’re usually are given very high stats while we have no clue how they’ll preform. For example The Terminator AFV for the Russians. Turns out it’s not very good. But in game it’s the best one they got.

Who cares? It's not a simulator nor was ever trying to be. Fun and balance trumps having to pander to people's wikipedia wankfest about military vehicle stats IRL that's poisoned by all sorts of factors like propaganda and spin anyway from all sides. Ultra-realism and video games mix about as well as water and oil.

Seems like the ranges are not very accurate.. cruise missle are fired way too close to the target....same with patriot and s300 not enough range at all....should make it more realistic

Realism would make them unplayable as regular, deployable units, but I agree that ranges are still a little lacking (even for things like tanks and ATGMs).

The whole point of this game is realism tho.....I think the ranges should be increased, they need to improve the airborn dynamics of it...bombers need to fly higher, stealth aircraft need to be stealthy( detectable when firing or with low frequency radar) among other things with air....we also need radar vehicles.....the patriot should not shoot with out a radar likewise other AA systems that don't have radar them selfs.
