Played this for the first time this weekend and had a blast with it. It’s very fun. One thing that’s strange to me is how the box says it’s for 3+ players when it clearly works perfectly well as a 2 player game.

I kid you not, I came on to message boards to ask/say the same thing, why couldn’t you play two player? 🤔

I'm so incredibly amazed at Prospero Hall, they make such unique games with amazing themes, using these old movies and shows and IPs, great to see the board game scene getting more than just the usual generic fantasy.

They also nail the art design and component quality. The theme just shines

If the lid for your attribute/character tray keeps coming off, that's an issue with your packing of the game. I've had this game box fall off tables, side around in the car, jostled, etc and have never had the tiles come out of their space. Make sure to have the tray at the bottom with the game boards over top of them.

I think that shuffle the two cards the director choose for a room (so he can't decide which card fit where also if one card is chosen face down) could be a good way to avoid the easy placement of cards in the spots. This could work. I'd like to play this game but for now... get it here in Italy would be too expansive.
@supermonkey3212 жыл бұрын
The game distributed by Funko, but it's designed by Prospero Hall, who I think are maybe the best at making these light, licensed-property themed of games.

I really love this game, probably my favorite twist on Mysterium. I do agree with you on positioning. I am not doing anything about it yet but if it makes it too easy I'll just houserule that position doesn't matter and make a point of mentioning it during the teach.
@darbyl387210 ай бұрын
Put the director's board inside the token tray, and they "should" stay in place. Or don't store the box sideways. Or add filler material. It's not rocket surgery.

Just fyi, my component tray is very stable and secure... I've packed it up from game night brought it home in the trunk and just double checked everything is still in it's slot.

This is my favorite Hitchcock film, so I'm thrilled (and amazed) it made it into a game. Looks very well done! But I just don't enjoy 1 vs many situations and rarely enjoy co-ops. So a slight sad pass on this one for me?

This is not my favorite-favorite (that would be North By Northwest), but Hitchcock and Stewart were a phenomenal combination, and I'm interested to play this just from reading the title on the box.

I loooooove the movie!!!! James Steward and Grace Kelly!!! So this game was a no brainer when I saw that Prospero did it. I encourage people to watch the movie before playing, it just helps with immersion but is not necessary. Enjoy! (Both 😊)!

Played it for the first time a few days ago. It went over very well. We lost but it was close. Great game. Great production. The tray works exceptionally well for me; the components are snug and the lid is fine. Weird, Tom musta gotta dud.

If you put the punchboards UNDER the tray it will raise everything enough to hold the lid in place.

Tom I think the issue you explained remind me alot of the Mysterium issue as well where you can dump cards on someone in order to tell that person he is right and get a fresh set of new cards :) Another hint at the similarities of both games..

And here I thought a Jaws game 2019 was a bit unusual. However, I love this movie so I'm stoked to play. The only downside is that I'm not big into Mysterium which this game is often compared to. Still, I think this game has a few interesting elements that make it different. Can't wait to try it.

I fail to see why wouldn't you be able to place the two cards randomly? Just shuffle them under the table an place them as they come up.
@NinjaHawkins2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like picking the two clues for a room, shuffling them up, and then putting them in the windows randomly would eliminate the sort of cheat/metagame Tom referred to. But I suppose it only matters if the game becomes too easy.

Love Rear Window, but I wish they would’ve gone with Psycho for the theme instead. I feel like it’s more popular with far more memorable characters

I wonder if the designer just designed a generic murderer guessing game, & the company looked into it and found they could license the Rear Window property pretty cheap.
@Sarx12 жыл бұрын
We don't do a ton of spec designs for games like this at Prospero Hall. There were a lot of big fans in the studio who loved Rear Window and the game was designed specifically around the license.

@@Sarx1 It's pretty obvious to anyone who's seen the film that the game was designed around it :) It looks amazing. I should be receiving my copy soon.
