I think Tom didn't enjoy Turmoil that much. I kind of agree with him on that and I've heard from other people as well, that it's the expansion they enjoy the least.

Aeon’s end expansion, new age, was great! Any opinions on it.

It's very good, but it's also stand alone. I really hope that we only get traditional Aeon's End expansion from here out. 4 stand alone products is too much, expensive, and wasteful.

I just got the dice settlers expansion. The game was about a 7.5 for me, hope the expansion makes it better!

But it is also not in the same category as the two games you mentioned either. Let's try and keep it in the same ballpark. Either way, yes it is only available above MSRP, let the buyer beware

Loosing 848 vs. 36, having lots to think about it, sounds VERY much like my first game of FCM went. :) I remember, I thought, I did pretty good until the middle of the game, but then started to loose all my gains on wages, not able to sell any more till the end.

the Dice Forge expansion is very good, however it costs more than I paid for the base game. So I will play my Mom's copy. :-)

At first, I just got this expansion for the variable player powers, but after playing with everything but the new temple, I can say that it fixes every minor complaint I had about the game.

Hahaha! Tom. Too funny. First time I played Quacks it had the BGG geek bits with it. I refused to buy the game because I feel that it’s incomplete without the bits and I didn’t want to pay $80 for this game. Then someone suggested to me to look at it as a donation to BGG. Then I was in. Now, if they would only release more so I can buy it.

@@bartwalczak2715 In a game with zero excitement and zero meaningful choices, that's probably easy to archive. Still, I was not interested to try out the expansion, based on my experience with the base game, which was just a boring waste of time for me.

Wow, major snub for Wingspan. Gotta disagree with the notion that just adding more stuff makes a stuff makes a good expansion. New mechanisms > more stuff!

But the Wingspan expansion was a perfect example of a "more stuff" expansion. Somewhat funny that he says that "more stuff" expansions are great and then says at the end of the video that Wingspan didn't make the list because it just adds more stuff.

Yes, but my point was that introducing a new scoring mechanism makes the expansion not exclusively more stuff.

@@SlightlyBearded That's specifically a change to the solo game though, right? I'll be honest, I've played with the expansion several times and I've just ignored the Automa scoring cards/pad because I assumed they were just for the solo mode.

@@SlightlyBearded "Scoring powers" is a really weird way to describe the blue abilities. They're literally just normal bird abilities that trigger when the round ends. I highly doubt that most people would consider that a significant mechanical change.
