The issue with the theme is that the story gives you a goal to return light in a dark world. But you can't find this goal in the game. Besides this point I like the design.

I love so much about this game, its stunning to look at, except I'm not sure there is enough dice mitigation trere for my tastes. But if someone wants to bring it to the table, I'm down!

The board is not really a board but more a bonus points track. The main part of the game is the cards and the dice. You can win the game without moving too much on the board. The board is double-sided, so you can change it a little bit the gameplay by using the backside.

Themer here. I didn't know how right Zee was about the theme until I read the rulebook and was confused with how in an example the player "tries to kill their companion to get the shards of light". So, you recruit companions to possibly kill some of them for more light, when in the story, when a "companion" dies, there's a moment of silence. That threw me off, because I kept wondering why they dedicated two pages to the story if it does not match the gameplay. It's fine to be dark killing your companions in a game, but I just couldn't fit that with the story. I felt if I cared about the theme, I would have to rewrite it in my head. That being said, I did love the art and gameplay.

Quick Internet Search: Game is officially unreleased. Not even Bombyx, the publisher, is selling it on their site, not even a preorder option. Might be a while before it is available. Couldn't even find an official launch date.

Publishers in France release few games in the first weeks of a launch so if it works this is hard to find it. Then they make a second production with a lot more games.

Cool art, but seems too reliant on luck. Just roll and hope for the best.

But you have rerolls that are cheap early. And you van draft cards that mitigate luck, and iif you roll something you dont like you can probably still make a move on The board. But yes. Some luck. Maybe too much. But not JUST luck

@@tommyakesson8858 Rerolling is still just hoping for the best...twice! I'm fine with a little luck, but it seems very similar to Yahtzee with bells and whistles add to it. I'm sure it can be fun, but it's not an 8.5 game for me.

@@Oncus2 Sure, reroll is still luck. But its also a question of Tactics. Is it worth 1 point to reroll? Yes! 4? 6? Over all im also not realy a luck/dice kinda guy. But everything with random elements have luck in it. Cards FEEL less lucky to me. Here you seem to have also the fact that different results can be used a bit in different ways. But its still TOO luck based for me. So I wont buy it. Had there been a few more trixes to twist dice rolls I wood have been more interested

Glow is the worst boardgame I ever played. The art is ok, the system is tedious and overcomplicated, the manual are badly written, the characters are unbalanced, there is no deepness, no strategies, and nothing is fun. I don't understand how such a garbage can be published.
