The transitions are SO much louder than Tom is. MY EARS :D

Yes, please correct. The transitions are really bad.

The audio in this video was weird. Tom's audio was too low, the transition "swooshes" were way too loud.

Hmm, note to the editor, need to check those audio levels.

My friend and I play Star Tycoon as a two-player game and we enjoy it, a four out of five for us (I use a different scale). We don't have a lot of analysis paralysis because we avoid that, thus the game moves quickly. I can definitely see that we wouldn't like this with a higher player count.

Star Tycoon is such a sleeper hit for me this year but so far I only played it solo. I love it.

Terminus requires patience to learn but its a really good game.
@andymcguire2372 күн бұрын
I disagree. It's too linear, there is one ability that is too strong (the "move-your meeple anywhere" power) and you are NOT allowed to make mistakes. These points make it more stressful than fun.

Agreed. Fantastic game, and so much better than Inside Up's previous game, which was just a boring here's free candy for everybody point salad.

I really like Terminus. Tom is correct that it is very tight. But it is so elegantly structured and cohesive and well balanced. I think it’s just a super smart game :)

Tom, is it possible you might have got a rule wrong in Lands of the Mesozoic? You shouldn't be running out of cards like that. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love this game, as did my partner and our son. I especially like the ability to remove cards from your ecosystem by making them go extinct (they still score at the end). I also like the balance between exhausting cards for their abilities vs exhausting them to bring in a new animal - makes for some tough choices sometimes. I have a playthrough and review if anybody is interested in seeing how it plays. You can also skip to the review, but I suggest watching a round or two to get a feeling for the game play. 🙂 In any case, I always appreciate your point of view Tom!

"Administration: the game" 😂 Thanks Tom! Now I know I will stay away from Terminus.

Star Tycoon played well for us at two players. I agree that in a given game that the card market may not be amazing but there are some ways to pivot. Mot times I’d choose Star Tycoon over Splendor despite the longer game length.

While I agree that The Feds isn't an amazing game, I've played it several times and am enjoying it. I think the city you play makes a big difference, some are more chaotic than others. This is a filler game we've played either at the start of a gaming session or at the end; it's not a main course. Anyway, I like these quick reviews, thanks.

Year of the 5 emperors is really unusual and an interesting way to think, kind of push your luck with area control. I have it in French, can't judge about the barrier of language ...

The audio mix for the segment transitions continues to be an issue. It was improved for some time but is particularly egregious this time. Makes it unpleasant to listen to.

Lands of the Mesozoic I was really sad about it the art work is so nice but the was (like said) slow and we played it wrong the first time and thought it was slow then played right and doubled down. Idea is cool but if you play give everyone like 4 more card to start and one land in play and it makes it a better experience.

A pity, "Year of 5 Emperors" and "Star Tycoon" look interesting, at least the basic idea, but obviously the implementation/design/development is lacking.

Some weird audio artifacting going on - hopefully just a one-of issue and not a big deal regardless. Fun video otherwise!

Too bad you didn't like Nestlings. I think it's a good game that looks great and surely not boring. There are some surprising moves (too bad my opponents discovered them) and being first player is both an advantage as disadvantage. Maybe not the most strategic, but there's more interaction and thinking to it than at first sight. I'm only curious how I am ever going to fill the whole food circle in four rounds.😅

I like the game. He is right in it takes a while to figure out what you need and what do do. About half way thru,, there was an aha moment. Now that I know how to play, the next play should be better.

Where's the fun in that!
@andymcguire2372 күн бұрын
Terminus was a huge letdown. You can only move in a linear fashion and the game dictates how you play it. Also, you can not make a single mistake (leading to stress and massive AP) because of the linear nature of the game.
