My God, that cover art looks like the cover of a Champions supplement from the mid-80s.

I totally get the dials and switches - they're meant to look like a 70's villain's deathtrap control board (like the Sonic Transducer from Rocky Horror Picture Show, or the computer in the Legion's Hall of Doom in SuperFriends). As for the art... I get it, it's meant to look like a silver-age product. But at an MSRP of $50... I'm not sure I'm THAT immune to the outdated (even if intentionally) look and feel. I will have to track this down at a con and try it out for myself before I invest for sure.

I think the price point is the main detractor here. I'd buy it if I saw it on sale though.

I played this last night with friends, and cut out half the rules and it still drained all the will to play any more games out of everyone. Next time we will probably cut out the origin plan, not have mandatory resting periods, and allow fights on every other turn.

Disagree with this review, fantastic game. The only thing that could have been dropped were the name tiles. not at all fiddly.Recommended for super hero fans

Agree 100%. I had this one on my "to keep an eye out for" list forever. Loved the cover art and concept. Man oh man did they miss the point of super villain fun and silliness. What's the deal with the switches. It's mechanics sucked out all of the fun. The artwork is good, but everything around the art is just white. Just a fiddly mess of mechanics. Big disappointment for me.
