Interesting. I didn't realise this was similar to the Risk Star Wars edition. That's a game I enjoyed as well. I would no doubt happily play this one too. Thanks for the review!

Wow, those old-school chipboard standees :D ... my jaded eye kept fixating on that dinged box corner. As a kid I was always irked by "space" games that depicted planetary surfaces as circles (for instance, as in Buck Rogers Battle for the 25th Centrury), but, in the case of Arrakis, it makes sense due to its particualr geography. Thanks for the review ... I used to swoon for RISK variants, but i guess I got older ... and my kid grew up, taking the "buying it for my kid wink, wink" excuse away ... booo.

Hi, very good video. I came for the joke, and stayed for the theme.... At first glance I also saw that was very similar to Star Wars Risk 2 players, which I have and is a very fun game, also a very inexpensive one... I'm also a huge fan of the Dune movies , and one of my very first novels I read, and also loved the first Dune movie.... I don't have any other Dune games because of the complexity, so if at some point see this at good price , maybe I'll get one. Thanks for the review!

Great review, have recently been listening to the dune audiobooks and have been interested in trying its board games. Also just in case you care it’s pronounced Fe-DIE-kin. Never realized it was spelled fedaykin in the books though because I have only ever heard it spoken. Took me a moment to realize what the word was

Thanks. I've listened to/read most of the books by this point. Some are better than others.

You're right, but Herbert was famous for telling people to pronounce the words however they liked, which I really appreciate. Maybe the most commonly mispronounced example is Harkonnen, which Cody also doesn't pronounce as Herbert intended, but if people really want to say oh in there then so be it. Another surprising one is probably Arrakis. Everyone probably assumes they know how Herbert intended on it being pronounced, but most probably don't know it's actually Uh rahk us.

Not very much like Risk but something I think dad and I would have loved if it had come out when he was alive.

@ might be! I love Dune and play the 70s version as one of my grail games. Maybe Dune has a more traitor mechanic, cooperative competitive deep rooted story than Star Wars does…
