Man I just did a big investment into 36 of the ADJ IP Hex elements pearl. These cost about the same and Ape Lights weigh a lot less but I'm happy with my ADJ IP Elements.

Nice video DJ MoJoe. Was wondering about SoundSwitch or DMX control. Is it possible to use dongles for uplights and wired DMX for say your main dance lights but have them all doing things together in SoundSwitch? This is to prevent very long DMX cable runs to the uplights. If so, how would you hook up the lights? These are a bit expensive but hoping to find something similar that's wired for now that does nice color fades at least under $100. Thanks man.

Good question! I haven’t done both wired and wireless using SoundSwitch. If I were to guess, you hard wire your main lights from the SoundSwitch Interface, then on the last unit on your main lights you would put a transmitter dongle and receiver dongles on the rest of the Uplights. I can’t say it would work for sure, but that’s what I was thinking to make it possible. You’re just continually transferring that DMX data first wired then wireless through the dongles. Hope this makes sense. The dongles though would make it so easy, but I understand. If you want to try this out, let me know if it works. 🙌

@@djmojoeofficial I don't have dongles yet and was hoping someone tried it before I buy these. Reason for this is that I would control lights & uplighting separately in SS possibly with autoloops & static looks for the pars. I think it can be done.

it looks like a lot of the companies are copying the Chauvet freedom par that came out 5 years ago. This type of style is definitely the best.

It's a bit costly for a starter dj.. But what easy affordable dmx setup would you recommend for a starter..?

Starter DJ - Get LED pars that you would plug into the wall, get wireless DMX dongles (1 transmitter on one master lighting fixture, the receivers on the other lights), then control fixture directly on the master lighting fixture) If we're talking about uplighting. Do it until you make your money back, reinvest in better ones that are battery powered that will save you time and make it easy for you to setup and control

Yea hard to compare a hex up light vs. a none hex up light since clearly the hex light already has an advantage of having more color options which could be deemed as "better" for that reason alone.
