Also, when you refer to the culture it is spelled as Hip Hop not Hip-Hop. This all I learned from the legendary KRS1, the teacha. And by the way, im a Bboy myself. Peace, love, and unity!

bboying is only one style of hip hop dance - he explains this around 7:43 after the death of bboying, what ppl call freestyle emerged. which was more based on the social dances of the time so you can actually dance with a lady, the wop, running man, the snake, smurf, rambo etc... but the athletic aspect is still there, so you'll still see ground tricks...

No disrespect but this isn't actually Hip Hop(culture). He mentioned the "elements" of Hip Hop but he did not state it correctly. So, basically there are the 4 core elements or the 1st 4 elements of Hip Hop which consists of Emceeing, Deejaying, Writing( writing is the real name for it, but people nowadays call it grafitti), and Bboying( or sometimes people refer to it as breaking). The only dance element of Hip Hop is Bboying as of now. Im not saying im against "modern" dancing, but im just saying its not actually Hip Hop. Even popping, locking are not of Hip Hop but they do coexist with Hip Hop well. If im not mistaken popping, locking are some sort of funk dance.

Buddah Stretch explained it correctly, bboying went away for brief time and hip hop freestyle came into focus. It pays direct homage to bboy and he specifically said it came from it.

The popularity of the style died down for sure during certain periods. You are right it never went away.

There are 5 elements of HipHop, how can say anything without knowing it, the last element is knowledge (Afrika Bambaata "The Godfather of HipHop, if dont know him, dont even reply to me, cause it makes no sense then), HipHop Freestyle and Breaking are the dances that are the elements of HipHop culture as the move of HipHopers, which was offcialy the main one depended on the era Popping and Locking are not HipHop but they are Street Styles, cause they come from the street but from the West not East coast
