Fun story, the first Pathfinder 2E adventure I played was Abomination Vault. We were a 3 player party, ourcharacters got knocked down many times but by the time we finished the first third of it we had only had one TPK. But yeah, we ran back to town frequently to get our asses reattached. But during the first level of the second third one of the players left. And we couldn't get anyone to join an already started run of the module.

The problem with your theory Luke is that the OneDnD playtest nerfed the Paladins "nova burst " Smite daamg,e the feedback was NEGATIVE from ALl of the powerr gamers and D&D insisted it wa sneccasary for class balance and stuck to their guns.
