I got a pit bull 2 days before I had my first child at 18 years old i knew not 1 thing about the breed I didnt know about the bad rep they had I knew nothing my pit was so sweet and loving this breed is very loyal and protective of their family they're the sweetest dogs I wish I could get another one my boyfriend is afraid of them and I keep telling him that these dogs are sweet and then give one a chance

She reminds me of my girl that I rescued. She is a pit/lab mix and was set to be euthanized the next day. Within the first month of bringing her home our kitchen smoke detector went off in the middle of the night. We slept right through it. Charlie comes running in our room barking and jumping on us and ripping our covers off. It was a false alarm but if it were a real fire there would be no doubt she would have saved us that night. She is our little protector. And we are hers. 💕

With all due respect. Pit bulls are not misunderstood. Pit bulls are attack first dogs. You can say that their owners are irresponsible if you want to, but the statistics don't agree. I don't hate pit bulls, but if you are of the opinion that they are just like any other breed, you are wrong. A new study just came out ( wexner medical center at the Ohio State University) states that that belief is one of the main reasons for the increase in child maulings.

As a retired police sergeant with 31 years of service, I can tell you that the canine officers are just about the most gentle animals on the planet. They are trained to protect their partners and stop fleeing criminals. When not on duty they are just like any other dog. The difference is that with pit bulls and pit bull mixes, these dogs were bred for bull baiting and dog fighting. Over the generations their INSTINCT is to attack first. That doesn't mean that they are vicious or mean or just go off. What happens is that when stressed they revert to instincts. They have been bred to attack first when they feel in danger. Again, I have no problem with pit bulls as long as they are not put in a stressful situation.

Donating isn't always easy, especially during times when counting our pennies is necessary, but every single penny that goes to a rescue place goes towards the animals' welfare. If we all give what we can, when we can, even if it's a small amount, we make a difference. Even just enough to buy a day's food for one animal, whatever it is, means they don't have to find that money to feed them. Of course, regular donations, even if it's a few dollars a month, is something that helps even more. Not just because it's the money, but because they know they can rely on getting a certain amount each month. That is the sort of thing that lowers the rescuers' stress. So thank you on behalf of those who benefit from your generosity.

It took me 3 visits to my rescue pittie to get him to not run away from me. He was a rescue from a reservation where the owner tried to make him a fighting dog. After 1 month he trusted me enough to lay next to me. Now he has become my service dog. After owning him for 3 years I started having seizures. He naturally knows when something is off and will key me into it. When I do have them during sleep I wake with him lying next to me with his head on my stomach whimpering. If I ever see a person mistreat an animal they better be able to run faster than me.

I always smile and cry when I see how they are living now. I watch these videos in the morning, they make me smile and put me in the best mood that lasts all day.
