EXTREME AVATAR DOLL MAKE-OVER: Shadow High to Neytiri [repaint, eyeswap & wig]

In this extreme Shadow High/Rainbow High doll transformation video, I'm giving a make-over to Uma van Hoose inspired by Neytiri from the movie Avatar.
I really loved the new Avatar: Way of Water movie, and while watching it I was so inspired to try and create a doll version of her character. I really love how Zoe Saldana looks in these movies AND I also created a Gamora doll, so I felt like it would be really fun to create another Alien girl that was portrayed by Zoe.
Then when Shadow High came out with their Rainbow Vision dolls (the Neon Shadow girls), they had fantasy skincolors, including Uma Van Hoose, which I thought was a pretty good candidate for this custom doll.
To fully transform her, I'm painting her body and face, swapping her eyes and putting her in a wig with tiny braids from TheDollPlanetHair, in black and dark brown.

What a creative use of the fantasy skin colors! She's gorgeous! When I paint dolls, I start with liquid acrylics and use airbrush medium to thin the paint (not water) to the consistency of milk or kefir. Since the paint is so liquidy, I use a plastic ice cube tray as my palette. You may want to get a set of smaller gauge brushes too. For flexibility, you can also get fabric medium for acrylic paints for use on clothing (or tails). I paint in layers, allowing to dry in between layers, and after I'm done painting and the paint is fully dry, I varnish. For this I use Delta Ceramcoat, a hardy indoor/outdoor varnish which is available in gloss and satin finish. If you can't find this exact brand, I'm sure there's an equivalent at your craft store. Hope this is helpful.

Hi, can you make a tutorial video on how to fix Disney Descendants doll hair? I currently own a Disney Descendants: Queen of Mean doll with some horrendous hair, and I don’t know how to fix it. I am blind, and I do not have the vision to reroute her hair, and I don’t want to ruin it by washing the dolls hair numerous times. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Awesome custom as always! 💛 For the sketches of your repaint, you can use watercolor pencils. That will allow you to make mistakes or see before if the idea works. Another thing very importart is sealing the repaint before and after, so you'll avoiding crack or "oxidize" in the future.
