TheDooo - Ascend *REACTION*

This switch is called a pick up selector. Pick ups are the little sensors that amplify the sound of the strings into the amplifier. Depending on the position, he can give the guitar a different sound. When it’s closest to the bridge, which is the part that the strings connect to near the bottom of the guitar, it has a brighter twangy sound. The pick up near the neck typically has a warmer, Fuller sound. The middle positions have a mix between the two.

Not a guitarist, but I believe that switch changes the tone of the guitar. You'll probably get other requests for it, but you should watch Dooo's solos on his new guitar. There's three songs/solos in one video, this one (Ascend) and two others (Eclipse & Horizons). They're all amazing.

TheDooo has a newer video that includes three of his works with better quality sound and camera. Probably should hit that one up next. I will say that it is good that you've picked this one before the others so you can get an accurate feel from how far he's come and how Ascend in particular has evolved.

That little switch determines which pickup ( 3 bars that go under the strings near his picking hand) is active whilst he's playing.

It's crazy fow how many views The Dooo is responsible for... not only on his channel but on others like this one. You guys should put aside some of that ad money and get this guy a beer... or a fancy guitar. Now a serious question... are you in love with The Dooo by now? 😁 I'm not into guys but he's making me reconsider 😂😂 PS: That stick on the guitar (the larger one) that he "plays" with from time to time is called a tremolo arm or a whammy bar. When you push on it, it moves the bridge and thus putting tension on all the strings at the same time, changing the pitch. The small switch, somebody already commented, is a pickup selector switch... that one you can Google if you're curious as you need to know what a pickup is and does first. A bunch of others have already told you about the pickup selector I see. Also, his video 'guitar solos with theDooo but on the new guitar' has three of his originals ( including a newer version of this song) which sounds much cleaner and improved ( this one was played on an old $100 guitar )

There are many covers out there of this song. TheDooo has a couple himself, playing along with Davie504 on bass during one of their legendary bass vs guitar battles. TheDooo also jammed to Ascend with Herman Li of Dragon Force, who was hosting a fundraiser for Jason Becker. Herman said of TheDooo, "he has a big heart and an enormous talent." The battles with Davie504 ( 11 million subscribers ) and The Dooo are hilarious, the musicianship extraordinary.

Sadly no one will know who he is truly other than the group he's apart of, TheGoons. But as some others have stated you should check out the three song video where he redoes all of original tracks on his new Music man guitar. Also yes that switch changes the tone of the guitar depending on which 'Pickup position' is chosen. He has a total of four original tracks: Ascend, Horizons, Eclipse and Ethereal.

My favorite TheDooo's song is Utopia, it's like an EDM mixed with some others instruments. Unfortunately is just audio and we can't see him playing, but still an awosome song, you should listen to it in your free time.

I mean yea, the Squire ones are dope two, but I like them more in the new crisp setting. Just my personal opinion.

I have a few theories. One I think he could be Buckethead, only bc he doesn't show his face either. Two it think he could be a guitarist from the band ghost bc again they don't show faces they wear masks. Three I think he's already famous in the music world and doesn't wanna be recognized as somebody who is more famous than he is on KZbin. He can't be buckethead, his voice is different, he's like 50 years old and he's so gigantic that he makes a 27" scale baritone guitar look comparitively normal sized. No way the Squier would look normal on him.

Everytime I hear this kid play.. I keep picturing Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.. Almost as if he studied and learned music theory from their styles.. his musicality is sooo similar to these two guys, just my opinion.. Try listening to Steve Vai's "for the love of God" and see if you hear the similarities..
