It bugs the crap out of me that they got rid of Mao's Vasa Aergun. I get that they must've wanted more of an exaggeration on his experimenting, so I could understand that with the replacing of Blast Finger, but he's the only MAIN CHARACTER with a special attack that can't really be taken seriously.

In disgaea, the MC is Adell, a human Demon Slayer. That got his whole human family and human village turned into demons except him. They were cursed to turn into demon. On his journey fight demons and finding the Overlord responsible for the curse, He wont admitted it but he fell for a demon girl name Rozlin.

Just a nice reminder why I like the Disgaea games... Never could take the time to really grind and level them up very much, though. The farthest I may have gotten was lvl 300... maybe? in Disgaea 3. But besides that, it's nice to see this series evolve, or crossover in each one (Laharl is practically mandatory, the loveable boy). I've played 1, 3, 4, and D2, watched parts of my older bro play 2, and I'll play 5 once I get a PS4, heh...

So far I've only played up to disgaea 3 (have 4 but not done with 3 yet XD), and I must say my favorite of the main characters is definitely Adell. He looks the coolest (in my opinion) and I like his story more then Laharls and Mao's. He thinks he's the last human and fights and fights with that mind never knowing that in ultimate irony he's not really human but a demon with near perfect human features.

I mean, I guess it's my fault for reading the comments on a video with him in it in a game that takes place after his, but I still didn't suspect random plot spoilers in a mere special attack compilation.

***** Actually, it's never mentioned. All that ever goes into even bringing it up is in the beginning of the game when he said that he is strangely the only human unaffected by the curse. After that there are small hints here and there (like literally two or three) but it is never brought up or explained in the cannon story, it is all speculation by us fans.

I really do like Mao's new 1st and 3rd unique specials in Disgaea 4, and you can go ahead and call this nitpicking, but he just doesn't seem...right with them. Sure, they fit his personality, but they just seem off to me. Laharl all life. He's badass, got the best attacks, and he's the only one to have actually defeated Baal in the storyline. Second, Valvatorez, third Adell, and Mao last ( I like him, but I think he's the weakest in comparison).

well, the way i've heard it, laharls victory over baal is the only one the was officaly "canonized" by being mentioned in a later game. the other characters might have also defeated him in storyline, it's just isn't offically confirmed yet

Darkos Uxie it's a bit of a late reply but a month or so ago i defeated baal in the disgaea 3 post game. it seams kimda silly to me that you consider laharl's fight with baal canon because it was mentioned in the disgaea 3 fight, but the disgaea 3 fight in which it was mentioned, is still considered non-canon. logic hole?

tcoren1 It's mentioned in Disgaea 3 and Makai Kingdom. Nobody mentioned the Disgaea 3 Baal fight because: 1) I don't think it was a complete victory, after the fight Baal it's still healthy and runs away. 2) Baal was in a Eyngi ( or how the hell do you spell that) body, so it wasn't at full strenght. And why was it possessing that shroom's body? Because it's real body was destroyed during the fight with Laharl. Baal's spirit flew away and posessed Zetta's body, then Zetta forced it to leave, and it came in Disgaea 3 and posessed the shroom. As you can see, there's no logic hole.
