'Flushable wipes' and the people who use them are probably responsible for a good chunk of economic activity. So much employment! I urge people to buy them and use them as much as possible. Wipes clean your kitchen pipes so put them down your plug hole too. If you cant get them past that little metal grate bit where the plug goes, use a stick to poke them down.

Technically bacon grease is flushable too but I’d advise against that as well.

Well done Andy boy, that was a hell of amount of wipes etc, I done 2 years with local water company as an Electrical/mechanical engineer and the amount of pumps that I had up out of wet wells, stripped/deranged was into hundreds, every house should have a grating at their connecting point so any ladies accessories/wipes that they through down toilet would clog the house as against the pumping stations... we had 4 high volume jet vacs constantly following us sucking out the wet wells and jetting the rising mains

question - what happens in a block of flats where 1 unit clogs the drain with their flushables? do the other tenants all have to pay for the cost of the plumbing work done? or can you somehow trace the culprit and leave the buckets of recovered material at their doorstep?
