For sure. I remember it being on the magazines the next day lol. Within my friends it was hey did you see letterman last night and we're talking about it. That was how you found stuff out still. Doesn't it always feel like yesterday? I can't grasp time. It's baffling. Will say those times were awesome back then. I don't care what anyone says. Drew looks better and better with age. You can sense that she is herself on screen.

I remember watching this on Letterman that night. At the time, Drew had a 'wild child' reputation, so when it happened, I wasn't surprised. If anything, to me, it came off as wild, but cute gesture. Had she faced the audience, maybe the reaction would have been different, but it was all for David, and in previous interviews, he had always treated Drew with kindness. I'm so proud to witness the woman she has become. Beautiful inside and out.

I love Drew so much. There’s never been a version of Drew Barrymore that wasn’t endearing and kind hearted. I’m lucky enough to have crossed paths with her a bit in the 80s and 90s as a fellow child actor in LA. So happy she has found her groove and is happy and well. She’s a constant inspiration.

Drew has seriously lived in her years on earth. She went through things in childhood that would have destroyed some grown adults. But thankfully she got away from it and back on the right track. Always been a fan and I'm glad to see her doing so well.

I saw Drew Barrymore at a Dodger game in 1995, which is right around the same time as the Letterman appearance. She had the same hairstyle.. She was about 15 rows ahead of me in the upper right field section.

I do remember watching Letterman every night during the period after 9/11 when the tension and anxiety out in the world was palpable. Dave’s show was a great refuge during those times. Poking fun at all the seriousness of the War on Terror. Great laughs.
