@@thimovijfschaft3271 Yes and no. It was a VERY good quest in its own right and advanced the story in extremely important ways. In a way i consider Chains of Harrow, a mandatory prequel to The War Within, part of the quest. It lay the groundwork for the mystery of the Man in the Wall, the second epic saga that will only expand and expand further, now that the Ballas Arc is completed. And it introduced the alignment system, a VERY intriguing system that is sadly yet to be used in larger capacity for story influencing choices. I hope to see it put to use in the future.

@@Jukantos well I have been into this game for 10 years. And I can remember the lead up and aftermath of the War Within very well. During the lead up everyone was going wild with speculations and theories, KZbinrs were making bets with eachother. And a lot of people were hoping for something like the Second Dream and we're disappointed to see that the quest turned into something very different than they expected. And this kinda downplayed the quest even though it was really just the fault of people's expectations rather than the quest itself which was good. But that's the thing with Warframe quests, they also turn into something very different than people expect.

So according to the Duviri Paradox, Teshin didn't die on Pergasa but fell to Duviri in the void portal. But I remember being mightily confused as to wether he died or not during the quest since DE changed him in relays to a RED mist. They later changed it to black as it is today. What I always wanted from a "new player experience" was a proper introduction to Teshin for new players who are rushing through the planets and not trying the PVP. I remember doing just that and being pretty confused when a random NPC from the relay appeared out of nowhere in the story.

I would say there's a very apparent disparity in rank between the Elder Queen and the Worm Queen, and that combined with the Worm more clearly bearing the tell-tale ravages of Clone Rot give me the impression that only the Elder was actually an Orokin noble and the legend of the Twin Queens is merely a myth she created to manipulate the Grineer into serving her interests as the old empire broke apart, the Worm instead a mascot she designed to further prop up her claim to the throne. And as for if twins were reviled because of Wally sightings, I can't say it seems likely the Orokin would want to have an entire interplanetary working class composed of clones if they were worried about that over the class marker based stigma the poem explicitly cites.

@@TheDsIEGE Not to mention mixing up the Man in the Wall with that, the Murmur faction perhaps? And other future strings of story. Something that struck me strongly from one of your past videos as well as replaying some of the story is realizing the Binary Nature of Drifter and Tenno. Related to this thought is Abrecht Entrati Stepping through the void, almost like a Looking Glass. Perhaps you start as a singular person, but when you cross the looking Glass (Alice in Wonderland ref-- kind of) the Result is a Void Duplicate. You pass through into the void, you age, you become the older drifter, however a void copy of you is created in that moment (Tenno / Demon) which pops back into the world that you left behind. In Duviri I think we're seeing our actual original selves, and we gain the ability to swap to Tenno and back (Void is indifferent to this?)

Furthermore, the Void doesn't want multiple possibilities which perhaps take away control and determinism, hence the Scene showing multiple versions of tenno falling .. or multiple timelines ceasing to be, this likely Magnifies Both who you once were, but also the Man-in-The-Wall is pleased as well to have more deterministic control. The small details within the main story quests, I believe, are something like traces of memories. The Tenno don’t have all their memories back after all, and they know they’re still missing several pieces. Perhaps the seven vague outlines of people in the Yuvan theatre are actually things we subconsciously know should be there but can’t quite remember yet. It makes me wonder, on subsequent play through a of the quests mecha-lotus is the one giving the Tenno commands. This could simply be a product of game design…. Or we really are replaying the quest, looping our memories back. Ordis had already demonstrated he has the ability to “play us” a soothing memory of the lotus after she leaves, what’s to say he isn’t helping us re-experience the quests. I had always assumed replaying the quests took place in a kind of irrelevant pocket dimension and it doesn’t actually happen within the world of warframe, but if it is happening again, albeit reconstructed from our memories, why would the Tenno keep doing it if not to search for information they don’t have. After all, we are the Tenno. When you think of it like that it raises a whole lot of questions. I’ll leave it to you DSiege.

Something I noticed in the video, when the Continuity fails, the Warframe drops into a pool of Kuva (blood), and rises out after the Tenno transfers back in. Almost like a baptism in (void) blood. Before the baptism, the tenno is but a feeble child. After, they begin to grow and become independent. It is also after this baptism that the man in the wall manifests within them for the first time. Just some interesting symbolism I picked up while watching your video (and somehow missed the last 3 times I experiance this quest lol). Also: Tyl Regor calling Teshin a “psudo-tenno” could just be an insult. As Tenno are considered to be the ultimate warriors, calling Teshin a “pseudo-tenno” could just mean “pseudo-warrior”. (Basically calling Teshin an obsolete old man lol).

As always, as fantastic deep-dive into areas and, more importantly, the significance of those areas of the story that many of us, despite our best efforts, seem to miss! Thank you sir! I am super-rushed right now, so I won't elaborate too much (unlike me, I know!) but I have a couple of thoughts that may or may not already have been covered and may or may not be entirely obvious already! 1. "Kiddo" is what our father calls us. Is this because we are trying to achieve the same thing as the Queens, essentially resurrection? Is Wally our father? Oh my, did I just suggest that Entrati is our father?! 2. Our father speaks of "something is out there, hunting us" (or similar) - Is he referring to our mother? We know that the Void Angels were the ones howling and trying to "break through" - Are they breaking through a literal door, or are they breaking through a more metaphysical construct, like entering the void and coming for us? 3. Did our father survive the accident? Was he actually paranoid or was he right (or both!)? If he did survive it with his mind basically intact, which the above seems to suggest, can we assume that the reference to becoming "barren" when travelling through the void, which presumably relates to women only, is the case because women become Void Angels? Is the blue light the antithesis of the red light (Kuva)? Does this mean that the mothers on the Zariman became the antithesis of the Queens and were possibly trying to protect us from them rather than trying to harm us? If father WAS paranoid, was he wrong about their intentions? 4. OK, this went on too long for something that wasn't supposed to and it did get a little disjointed, I know, but I have so many thoughts right now (thanks mainly to you and your wonderful videos @TheDsiEGE!) and these are just a few of them. I really have ten times this right now, for the first time in a long time (perhaps since the Second Dream!) but I needed to get some of them out while they are fresh! Thank you for the work again! I remember you talking about a theory where when we shook hands with wally all other versions or multiverse of our character died except two or something along those lines. This had me thinking, since I believe at the moment there are 4 versions of our tenno if not more... one is the tenno that we get introduced to mid way through exploring the planets/ once you unlock the quest, then we have the drifter that comes in much later (or not)... then we have thrax(this may or may not be a reach but I think thrax is the version of our character that wally doesnt want since you also spoke about how the tenno are children and are "pure".)\\\ [I know im not good at typing my thoughts which is why I didnt before lmao. but anyways]\\\ and finally wally the 4th version of our tenno. Well not wally per say but the voided tenno ill call them. Since said "voided tenno" was on the shoulders of "wally". I feel like all 4 are our tenno but on .. different paths you could say. This theory also helps me in understanding how the blue albrecht that we see (whether its albrecht that escaped or the other) as well as the pale skin albrecht we saw in the latest tennocon can exist. Since in his logs he speaks about how he will not change skin anymore after the travel/portal into the void. apologies for the mess above cant type my thoughts clearly but yea that is all.

The War Within quest is a point by point Hero’s Journey … One where the protagonist leaves their comfortable mundane world (Margulis’ First Dream scape) and eventually enters an underworld (the Yuvan Hall trial) because of a “real” world crisis (the Grineer queen’s plan to subsume the Operator). Along the way, the hero is aided by others by “chance” encounters (the many supporting characters we meet as we move through the Star Chart), but under the watchful eye of a stranger - a guide and sage mentor (Teshin) is the last “professor” and the Lotus serving as a “first-grade teacher of sorts) to emerge as a more actualized person, capable to contend with the threat in the “real”, external, world. Much like the rites of passage of many “primitive” cultures, this is the way a child, full of potential but untested, grows, transforms, to be a competent adult.

Unrelated but I always wondered what was up with the Awakening Cutscene and New War cinematic trailers. The Operator in the trailer that's a stand-in for the player (controls Nova) is the same person who awakens the Warframe at the very beginning of the game (seemingly running away from the Grineer without a Warframe), but they can't be the player since the player awakens in The Second Dream. Is there a time loop going on? Is there another Tenno "main character" that isn't the player that's been active before TSD? Is this somehow the Drifter, even though the "default" Drifter in trailers is a guy who looks like Pedro Pascal?

I think that the fall of the Orokin is far more complex than just a group of Warframes murdering the council and Orokin society on the celebration day after The Old War. Basically all factions we know would have liked to see the Orokin fall and the Tenno were willing instruments (and ignorant to the moral implications). Although I'm positive that not all of them would have supported the slaughter that happened, I'm betting that even the Dax weren't uniformly pro Orokin society. So there had to be plans and intrigues that had to evade the Orokin mind invading powers, which would explain Teshin's abilities.

While it is odd that Teshin can influence the mountain vision, his hate for the Orokin might not be so strange. If Varzia is to be taken as an indication, some Dax actually cared. Maybe it was something that came with age, as Umbra's son wasn't showing any signs of animosity (or cold reverence) towards Ballas. But what I gather from all this is that Dax were not just a rank, but a caste, a whole sub-race of humanity bred and engineered to be the sword for the Orokin. Obedience was bred into them, total obedience. The fact that Teshin was able to fight back by proxy at all might just show how much of an absolute unit that man was. At least that is the narrative I have chosen to create for myself in regards to his actions. Where every fiber of his being is screaming "TRAITOR!" and burning like the sun with him simply trying to give us the tools to fight back. And he powers through it without complaint, pomp or circumstance.

I mean he resides in Duviri, and he was seemingly around when the Orokin were, which is canonically 1000~2000 years ago(or more), meaning he either went into a stasis pod like Varzia. Notably, Varzia calls Teshin as the Tenno's "Uncle", which is a really weird thing to say if Teshin wasn't deeply involved with training the Tenno. I'd actually argue you should read what Varzia has said about a lot of things, lots of currently canon lore that could be hinting at the real future of Warframe, like that AMPS are from the Orokin Era as well, implying Our ability to leave Warframes wasn't a "new" skill.

So after a very long time of continuity, the orokin started hearing and seeing doppelgängers in the void? So then maybe when all those consciousness that were cast into the void because of the continuity they slowly became the man in the wall. Can the void differentiate between multiple entities?

The process of continuity sounds almost similar to how Orochimaru switchs bodys in Naruto. So maybe continuity doesn't destroy the vessels consciousness but simply shoves it in a corner of there own mind and the transfered consciousness moves in???

So, can anyone with good knowledge on the lore explain to me, why do we fight the dax in duviri? I do know that Duviri is a place that our drifter counterpart was stuck in after the zariman ten zero incident. Its a time loop of our own construct (correct me if im wrong). So if its a figment of our own imagination, why did we face daxes as our enemies? Arent they allies of the tenno? Or is Teshin the odd one? Im really confused. Mostly because ive only recently started delving into the warframe lore.
@TheDsIEGE Жыл бұрын
So... Spoilers to those who read this if you haven't completed the new War... the section of the voidspace known as Duviri was created by the drifter due to extreme emotions in what appears to be a timeline or dimension where the Tenno did not accept the deal in order to attain their abilities, hence the drifter being a part of us, but not at the same time. This world was created from a book called the Tales of Duviri, meant to help people understand how to deal with emotions as the void has a way of creating things out of it through something called conceptual embodiment. Duviri mimics the characters in that book, hence the dax and the orokin looking people you see, and the entities within see us as an adversary to Dominus thrax. In the end of duviri, we come to realize we are one and the same, but the drifter allows this version of himself to keep control of the area in the end, as he appears to no longer need it, his attachment now severed.

What interesting me most that the Queen is proclaim as a holder of the Kuva. But where is that Kuva actually come from? Does that relate to the blood of the Orokin itself?

Question: Doesn't continuity require Blue Kuva, and Red Kuva to remain in the body? I mean we don't find out about Blue Kuva until the Naberus folktale, but I would think this quest would be updated to reflect that, no?

I love the queens as characters and I wished they were used more although I also get why they aren't. Personally I always used to think they inhabited Grineer bodies because of availability. But yeah the Grineers influence is massive, they could've taken people from all of these hundreds of villages they occupied and slaughtered. And yes it kinda makes sense that it would be out of solidarity for the Grineer but in reality they don't really care the Grineer. It's more of trying to look like "One of them" just so they are more likely to obey and less likely to resist. The Grineer as we know it exists because they were a failed Orokin experiment that were treated like a joke by them and organized and rose up. It makes sense that the Queens took on their appearance because they would rather listen to one of their own than one of those that are responsible for their misery. And for the queens this made it easier to push this fascistic supriority complex onto to the Grineer without worrying that they might one day come after them. Which would be a worry for them if they didn't look like a Grineer. But by becoming a Tenno, they would be so powerful that no Grineer would even dare to resist considering that we slaughter millions of them eithout hreaking a sweat.

I never understood why or how Teshin got to be on the side of the Queens.
@TheDsIEGE Жыл бұрын
They are orokin, and they have a kuva scepter, something the dax are specifically forbidden to attack. The orokin gave them their power, so out of fear of taking it away, they served. That being said, I do believe his service was more symbolic in the new war because as far as he knew, the orokin were gone aside from the queens.

Why are we the only Tenno with a voice or presence in the story?
@TheDsIEGE Жыл бұрын
Because it's our dimension, otherwise we would all have confronted the stalker at the reservoir and our ship, we all would have killed the grineer queen, and we all would have "died" with the lotus and come back during the new war. The best explanation comes in two different places, first, the explanation of eternalism during the new war by euleria, but also... if you remember waaaaaaaay back when you first installed your void relic segment, ordis explained how they work, and it's almost identical to how eternalism is explained, the only difference being us and the relic itself.

The music in the background is a bit annoying and it's too loud at times. it doesn't bother me to have music in certain parts of the vid but it's just annoying to have the same track on repeat for 30 min straight. Anyways, that was just a nitpick and some feedback. Great video as always siege!
