your my favorite youtuber because your tutorials dont go on for an hour just to teach people to use blender.

You don't need to duplicate each mesh to make the outline. You can just add the outline material to the 2nd slot of the mesh material data, add a solidify modifier and set its material offset, so the generated geometry uses the outline material.
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
Good idea, should play with that! Though, the displace modifier still affects the base mesh, so we’d be seeing the back side of the faces which could lead to strange normal behaviors/shading right? Let me try it later. In a couple places I ended up modifying / simplifying the outline mesh anyways, just wasn’t relevant here for the legs.

Saw in a different comment about your using a different rig is it possible to purchase the rig you have or do you have a recommendation for another rig? Personally I find it difficult to animate the face on the current one :)
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the rig in this video isn't available (I'm not the creator), but the upcoming animation tutorials are going to show how best to use the main player rig that comes with MCprep (which I did create). If you're having some issues with the rig, I might suggest playing around with scaling and rotating facial controls as they have additional features which I find very handy and actually make it faster to animate with. Beyond that, there are a lot of rigs out there, try searching for some and play around with them!

Is there any way to change the iris colour? I've tried with material changes, which didn't work, and I haven't been able to find any info on any other possible method.
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the rig! But typically, the iris is going to be a separate object; select this object, then go to the properties > material tab. Indeed, see what materials if any are listed there. Maybe to be safe, remove *all* materials, and then create a new one. Now the selected iris will be white, so go into the shader tab (tabs across the top) and then change the diffuse input color to the generated principled shader. Last step, single-select the other iris (if a separate object), and shift select the original iris (which you already changed, this just makes it the "active object") and now with both selected, use control l, then select copy materials, to make them the same. Hope this helps! Let me know where you get stuck if not.

Oooh, it took me awhile to wrap my head around what anything meant in the shader window, but once I figured that out it turned out their default blue is on the Diffuse BSDF settings for the existing material, and changing it there worked while keeping their existing glossy shine. :) Thanks.

quick question, how do you insert the frame or what ever. in other words, how do i make my character move. I understand how to manual move but how do I make it move on the timeline at the bottom.
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
Sure, press i (insert keyframe) to keyfame the select bones for the current frame you are on. Then it adds the keyframe yellow diamond icon, which you can select and move around later.

Does anyone know how to parent the weapon to the rig? I watched the beginning of this video in x.25 speed and I see you parented to bone, but how did you select the specific hand/arm bone?
@TheDuckCow3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a little tricky. You need to select the item (weapon) first, then shift select the armature (so it becomes the “active” object in a lighter color), then move into pose mode of the armature (control tab or from the mode drop down), and now you can select a single bone and press control p. Hope that helps!

The rig looks different than the one in the spans in Mcprep. I loaded all the rigs none of them have the same structure. Is there a rig that comes in Mc prep that looks like yours?
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
That’s is correct, the rig in the video is actually from one not shared in MCprep, but was one used in a prior production I worked on. I’m not the owner of the rig and it’s not distributed widely. That being said, I do very often use the “Player” rig that does come with MCprep, and there are plenty of others on blendswap as well.
@ytscrb77444 жыл бұрын
This is probably the wrong video to ask this but what add-on do you use for mobs.
@TheDuckCow4 жыл бұрын
It's called MCprep, get it at theduckcow.com/MCprep which comes with most (but not all) mobs built in; others you might be able to find on the web, if needed.
@ytscrb77444 жыл бұрын
Ok I use mcprep for my animations but can you do a video on how to pose the rigs.(mobs)
