In honor of losing one of the most iconic voices of a popular superhero last year, I suggest we start the new year proper with a reaction to his review of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Would also start of the new year by scratching off seeing something Batman related as many have asked for something of such for over a year now. (We can hold off on Polar Express till next December)

Just a few corrections of the story you got from people attempting to relay it to you. - The girlfriend never dies in the story. She left Scrooge one Christmas due to his love of wealth and profits growing and outweighing his love for her. - The ghosts being different versions of Scrooge is mostly in a reader's interpretation, not a bad one, mind you, as the book does leave a few things vague, but enough so that there's a reason why other adaptations never utilize this idea of having the Scrooge actor play the Ghost before or since regardless if its live-action or animated. (Also, everyone is allowed to make their own adaptation of the story since all of Charles Dickens famous novels were published in the 1800s well before copyright laws were a big thing during the 1920s. Thus, they all fall under the public domain.) - Scrooge's fear of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come isn't simply because of death but more of the unknown and uncertain future he represents. His appearance of a Grim Reaper-looking figure is a Victorian-era idea of how Christmas is also a time to reflect on who we lost as the holiday is set so close to the new year. - Lastly, the reason for the title is that Charles Dickens expected the story to be repeated and shared and to bring people together just as the singing of Christmas carols spread joy and brought families together each season. Considering there are around 100 adaptations and dozen upon dozen popular shows that have used their Christmas-themed episode to incorporate the story in fashion, he was right. (At least, I thought so until you claimed to somehow never heard about it till now. You can't convince me you're not actually from the moon.)

14:20 - Most people really like the Jim Carrey Grinch movie, but Doug doesn't. He doesn't like it and struggles to understand why anyone does. Based on the NC video he did about it, I think it's because he views the Jim Carrey version as unnecessary since the original animated one is practically perfect. He's also not a big fan of the crude humor.

Tiny Tim never died. What the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come showed Scrooge a vision of a possible future if he never changed his ways. When Scrooge woke up on Christmas day, he gave Tiny Tim's father a huge raise and became a 2nd father to Tiny Tim. With the help and money used for medical, the boy never died. 0:30 Most of us forgotten about Christmas Story 2. It was a downright hated trailer full of dislikes as this went straight to video. Most didn't see it and we almost forgotten it till the Critic posted his review of the movie several years later. So don't worry you didn't see it because most of us never did.

Toys for tots and the salvation army are chaities most people associate with christmas time. at least here in the states. Toys for tots for being one that gifts out, well toys and other products to unfortunate children (orphans, poor families and such) And the Salvation Army for standing outside the doors of major chains like Walmart, Hy-Vee and Bakers dressed as santa ringing a bell with a red donation bucket. SO yeah, this time of year, he usually does this charity because of the holiday association.

You not know about A Christmas Carol reminds of an episode of The Looney Tunes Show, where Lola Bunny didn’t know what A Christmas Carol was, so made a play about it to get the town back in the Christmas spirit, but she completely changed the plot to where it was about a girl named Carol who was the daughter of Santa, & it was basically another story about wanting to save Christmas. You’re nothing like Lola Bunny, you just a memory from a show I like.

6:36 Up until 1973 (about 130 years after _A Christmas Carol_ takes place), the British pound wasn’t decimal like the dollar, but instead it was divided into 20 shillings, each divided into 12 pence (pennies), making 240 pence overall. The “crown” was the name of a coin worth 5 shillings, or a quarter pound - so basically like an American quarter, but for Britain, if that makes sense.

Here's the full plot of Charles Dickens' 1843 classic A Christmas Carol: Chapter1: Ebenezer Scrooge is an old greedy money-lender who hates Christmas. His old equally greedy business partner, Jacob Marley, has been dead for years. Scrooge underpays his only employee, the gentle kind-hearted Bob Cratchit. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge shoos off his nephew Fred (his only living family) and two charity collectors, telling the poor to die in order to "decrease the surplus population." He does give Bob Cratchit Christmas Day off however, though without pay. That night, Scrooge sees Marley's face on his door knocker for a split second. As he's getting ready for bed, he's confronted by the ghost of Marley, who's held down by chains representing his evil deeds. He warns Scrooge that the same will happen to him if he doesn't change, and Scrooge is hesitant to believe this is real, but he learns it is soon. Marley warns that Scrooge will be met with three ghosts that night and departs. (I'll put the next chapters in the replies when I have the time tonight)
@mrmeowsermoney
@mrmeowsermoney Жыл бұрын
Chapter 2: Scrooge gets visited by The Ghost of Christmas Past, a gentle spirit with a soft voice. (Not nearly as scary as in this movie though) The ghost flies Scrooge back in time to his old boarding school, where he sees all his friends and sister getting ready to go home for Christmas, which he loved as a child. Then, they go to Scrooge's old job, where his jolly boss Mr. Fezziwig tells him and his co-workers to stop working and join his Christmas ball, where Scrooge falls in love with a girl named Belle. Later in life, the ghost reminds Scrooge of what happened to their relationship: Scrooge started to love money more than Belle, so she left him. (She didn't die, btw) Modern Scrooge watches this and is heartbroken again, but still not budging on being nice, so the ghost takes Scrooge back to await the next spirit.

Chapter 3: Scrooge awakens to hear some loud noise from within his house. Upon inspection, he finds that a giant man is feasting on giant food in one of his rooms. This is the happy Santa Claus-esqur Ghost if Christmas Present. (Though a more accurate title would be the Ghost of Christmas a few hours ago because there is no way in Hell any of what he’s gonna show Scrooge is happening at 1 am.) The ghost shows Scrooge his nephew's Christmas party, which is really happy until Scrooge finds out they're dissing him, though Fred still defends him a little, even though his wife still says he's a dick. Then the ghost shows Scrooge the Cratchits' house, with his three sons, wife, and three daughters. They are in extreme poverty, and Cratchit's youngest son, Tiny Tim, is sick from rickets and needs crutches to walk. Despite having barely enough money for food and medicine, however, they're still very happy about the holiday and Bob is grateful to Scrooge for the day off, though his wife still thinks he's a dick. Scrooge feels bad for Tiny Tim and asks the ghost if he's gonna be okay. The ghost says it's not likely, then throws Scrooge's own words back in his face when he says that maybe it would be a good thing to, "*decrease the surplus population.*" Scrooge of course feels really guilty now, but then the Ghost of Christmas Present freaking dies and Scrooge is left alone in the dark.

Chapter 4: Scrooge is met by the final spirit: The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. This one is just a hooded faceless figure who doesn't talk and only points at shit. (And no, he does not shrink Scrooge down and chase him for no reason.) The ghost shows Scrooge a bunch of people talking about some asshole who died in his sleep and discussing who gets his money. He's also shown some thieves talking about all the stuff from they stole from the old dead guy. Scrooge sees that among them are his custom-made drapes. He's then shown all the Cratchits (except Tiny Tim) mourning at a grave. Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim has died. He's then shown another headstone that says "EBENEZER SCROOGE" written on it. He begs the ghost to let him change but instead falls through the ground, into the coffin, and to a blazing inferno.

Chapter 5: Scroogw wakes up on Christmas morning, very not dead, and thanks the heavens and declaring his love for Christmas. Then he just runs around in a nightgown like a lunatic and makes up for some bad stuff he did: he donates a lot of momey to charity, gives Bob a raise, gives yhe Cratchits the most expensive turkey, and visits Fred's house for Christmas dinner. It ends on the equally alive Tiny Time declaring the iconic line: "God bless us, every one." THE END. Of course, this went on the be one of the most popular books ever written, amassing a kgbjhillion adaptions
