Fun Fact: Sparks is the fastest power crept card in the game's history. It has the Serial Number LOB-055, meaning it was Card #55 in the Booster Pack "Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon." The very next card in the same set, Serial Number LOB-056, is Hinotama.

They either do a "How to fix [Insert name of Video Game/Show/Card Game/Etc.]" or a "Ten Reasons why ___________ sucks", but hardly ever go into why they think it's worth fixing or what the positives are. This guy actually put in some extra effort to come up with some situations where the cards where viable, though not really useful, and I can appreciate that.

@cameronharding60555 жыл бұрын
ratchetandclankfan2 Going further, the first and 6th card can be used together to essentially eliminate problematic draws in the near future. For example, if they have one, preventing a Kaiju from reaching their hand in case you managed to set up a beefy boss monster with protection that forces them to stall out turns. It also can be used in conjunction with any cards that force the opponent to show them your hand in order to prevent future plays. It’s still a bad card, but I can think of minor uses for it. Abyssal Designator can also probably be used to counter exodia decks if you know the opponent is running one. It’s still underpowered and most people won’t run Exodia, but it does have that use.

I have a suspicion that at some point they wanted specific cards to counter specific cards. So, like, Dark Magician would have been able to counter Blue-Eyes with a specific card, or something. But, they didn't do that, and instead added flip monsters, and generic traps to counter cards. So, theoretically, knowing what your opponent was playing would have been useful to know how to counter it. I think they tried to implement the 'counter' archetypes thing later with stuff like Ally Of Justice, and Meklords. But, the problem became that they would make a very good archetype and a bad archetype that was meant to counter it but didn't because Konami made it so that the archetype could only counter specific plays and monsters, not stand on its own. After that, they just gave up on the whole idea.
@eduardogarcia63184 жыл бұрын
@@qty1315 I think you're right. There were even cards like "Last night of the witch" or something like that, which specifically destroyed one type of monster. And that monster that Pegasus used that flipped (the effect was different in the anime) all dragon monsters to defense position.
@smackdashitoutchu77553 жыл бұрын
Pegasus's ability was way better than these cards though. At the start of every single duel, he knew every card in your hand, every card in your deck (because he could read your mind) and every card in your Extra Deck (back then was just the Fusion Deck, and wasnt as big of a deal). He also knew all your combos and what you were planning, he also didnt have to draw any cards for his ability and didnt have to go -1 either. For a card to be as good as Pegasus it would have to read "You can activate this card from your Deck at the start of the Duel, if this card is in your hand also draw 1 card. Your opponents hand, face down cards, extra deck, and side deck become public knowledge." And even that wouldnt be as good as Pegasus's ability because you still wouldnt know your opponents future plans, though if you know your opponent and/or the deck they're playing you could probably deduce their most likely play.

I have Hieroglyph Lithograph and it's awesome. Also, I don't know if it's just me or how they made it, but you can see the God Cards in the picture of this card. You can see Obelisk the Tormentor the best in the blue colored tablet.

The game changed too much. The game speed went up by like, 1 billion percent. I know that telescope would be here, but when it came out, knowing the next 5 draws of your opponent was HUGE.
@zade34886 жыл бұрын
Not really. Having information at the cost of an entire card has never been a meta strategy in yugioh. Sure it was a lot better but it was never great
@FelipeWalker26 жыл бұрын
@@zade3488 remember: back in the day we didn't have a lot of card draw effects, so it really wasn't that bad
@zade34886 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get that it was useful, way more useful than garbage like the inexperienced spy or gather your mind and such but not something you'd play in a competetive deck, more of a casual card
@Nerobyrne6 жыл бұрын
+Zade Gather Your Mind was actually useful. Not on its own of course, although it could make your deck just a tiny bit smaller. But there were quite a few cards that combo'ed well with it, most notably the spell counter cards. Granted, THOSE were pretty bad as well, and Gather Your Mind was immediately replaced in those decks once Toon Table of Contents came out.
@VixXstazosJOB6 жыл бұрын
all that changed is having 3 more neighbors in Fusion Deck that can only be played 1 by 1, falling easily into pre GX Compulse and SolemnJudgement... and having MST'able monsters that go to the ExtraDeck, with the same weakness now lol

For Number 6, before the trust me bruh ruling, if you called an impossible combination, your opponent doesnt reveal deck. It is public knowledge that it doesn't exist. It would be like calling Last turn with mind crush.

Okay, I have found a deck where Card Shuffle would maybe be kinda useful. Runick stall decks. With Runick Fountain, you are constantly placing your quickplay spell cards on the bottom of your deck, so you could conceivably have Card Shuffle be there to make it possible to draw into them. But, you're better off playing cards that just so happen to require you shuffle your deck. Like Gold Sarcophogus, Jar of Avarice, Timelords, or any other searcher.
@DaRayOfHope6 жыл бұрын
With abyssal Designator, if u call a combination that does not exist you do not get to look at your opponents deck as it is public knowledge that they do not have it.

Fun fact I run my Superheavy samurai with a three of spell card. Sekkas light. It's a free draw two that removes itself from the grave and has little to no downside for the deck (since you're not running other spells anyway.)

There is actually a weird effect for "Shuffle" that makes it quite useful. If you are running a casual "convulsion of nature" deck where you get to draw cards that are on the bottom of your deck if you guess them correctly (with the support of the true name, gishki diviner and archfiends oath for example), you can shuffle your own deck to choose the best cards to draw. Its a really specific scenario, but in this case its quite useful.
@thrakerzad58743 жыл бұрын
do one for monster cards, there are a ton of like just normal monster cards with really weak stats, like a lot more than anyone would ever want/need for any purpose. it would be one thing if all of them had support, but a lot of them are just weird cards from the early days.

I thought that your opponent didn't have to show you their hand and deck if you declare something that doesn't exist with Abyssal Designator; I saw someone talking about it and really underused type/attribute combinations, such as Fish/Dark (there's one monster who has it, and it's an Earthbound Immortal that no one is likely to be using)...
@thaddeusgenhelm89796 жыл бұрын
Based on everything I can find, it seems like you're allowed to declare any extant pair of attribute/type even if no cards with such exist, but the only "official" rulings I can find in that regard are either very old, or made back when Upperdeck or w/e was in charge of the TCG.

I used Abyssal Designator in duel links. With this card cost 1000 life points i was able to activate skill that turns oll monsters on opponents graveyard into useless lv1 normal skeletons. And benefit of using Abyssal Designator as activation requirment over other "spell cards 1000lp cost" is that synergy with that skill, you may send you opponent's key card to they graweyard before polimorfing it.

Solomon's Lawbook is a trap that skips your next Standby Phase. This allows you to bypass major costs in decks like Amorphage or D/D/D, but lacks utility for the fact that it is one shot and (especially for D/D/Ds), the first turn of the game is usually more important than later turns, and this is a -1 when you draw it. However, it does produce some very positive effects in a deck like Amorphage and probably could have been a great tech if it were continuous

Top 10 Duel Logs Favorite Cards! Top 10 Duel Logs Favorite Cards! Do it! Please? Yes? What i mean by Top 10 favorite cards is not cards that are useful or they are useful, but cards you like because of art, effect or other. Like for example. One of my favorite cards is Airknight Parshath. Yes, its a lvl 5 with 1900 atk and just a pierce plus draw, but still one of my favorite cards. Infact, i like most fairy cards in the archetype. Sure, might not be top tier or meta. But, they still hold a special place in my heart and this card is one of my favorite once in that archetype.
