@@christopherfeatherley tbh i prefer cards that getting errata and unbanned than just ban and never going to see play ever again because konami lazy to reprint card back even though they do commonly with artwork mainly Blue eyes and DMs,they already did it recently with firewall and darkness metal dragon so idk they can just errata or unbanned other card that's hardly going to be use in modern day like limit last turn,ultimate offering and you won't see them at all in competitive unless it's a gimmicky deck that based around it. Like i think verte would be fine if it negated fusion summon cards when use it's 2nd effect which make it only useful for super poly target for predaplant,mud dragon and starving venom. Sure dpe probaly still uses mainly it's gy effect is active but it only happend when it's destroyed so it's very unlikely to use it's revival effect unless you're playing despia and opponent dumb enough to keep the field spell alive during their battle phase. Though i don't think despia even would play it mainly how bricky they're if they don't draw their jester on starting hand

Verte purpose is basically superpoly opponent monster away to either starving venom or fusion monster from other archtype(mainly despia and shaddoll) without having discard cost that superpoly have which is why it have the change a monster to dark attitude as 1 of it's effect. If it only worded "you can pay 2000 lp and send 1 "fusion" or "polymerization" Quick play spell card" then it basically solve all of problem it have and yes there're more than 1 ss2 fusion spell which is why i only remove the "normal" part and none of ss2 poly are broken so i kept it

Time Seal can only ever have an effect from Turn 4 onwards. If you go first and set it, you cannot activate it on your turn. The very first thing that happens at the start of a turn is that the opponent draws a card - you do not have priority, and cannot activate Time Seal to "interrupt" the draw. As a result, you cannot interrupt your opponent until the turn AFTER you have set it, unless you use Makyura, in which case you have spent two cards to deny your opponent one.

I remember I was in a local’s tournament sometime around chaos control. They got me in the yata lock and declared they won the duel! I was aware of the famous lock and combo obviously but I had a lot of life points and the duel was almost over. I said no you didn’t win yet let’s keep going and see how the duel plays out. Sure enough he was almost out of cards. And he didn’t have any more monsters besides yata to attack me with. Lol. Soon enough he had to either deck himself out or not attack with yata thus allowing me to draw again and to finish him off. Just goes to show always fight to the bitter end you never know what might happen. He was so sure he had won like an exodia win condition. And sure any other time he would have but with no more monsters and almost out of cards to draw it was not meant to be this time. Was a pretty epic conclusion to the duel, from my perspective at least.

To be honest, if more people did this, Yata may never have been banned. Even if you have 35 cards left, Yata is not enough to wipe out 8000 lp on its own. And you can play around deckout by playing more than 40 cards.

It's amazing how Komoney *_still_* won't ban Halqifibrax. I swear like a solid 1/3 of the banlist is only on there because of Halqi. Also, no Scythe or Dagda ban or even limit. I wonder what kind of shenanigans we'll see with Wall of Revealing Light. I wonder if it'd be any good in Dinomorphia? As an XYZ fan, I'm not sure whether to be relieved or worried that it's the only extra deck summon type without a broken Link-2 monster with completely generic materials and effects. Fusions had Verte Anaconda, Synchros have Halqi, Pendulums had Electrumite, and Links have I:P Masquerena.

For the people that dont play super seriously: meow meow mu was banned because at 1 it still made any prank kids main deck monster a one card combo. It was being used in these sorta good stuff decks that would use any one prank kids monster to set up either DPE plus 4 draws or double battle butler, besides the drawn handtraps and brave token stuff

trickstar light stage is limited because the search is NOT once per turn. you can just search candida->summon it->search another trickstar card -> if you have light stage again or other cards that can search light stage you can just activate it again to search another trickstar monster. also the ability to destroy the face down spell or trap activates at the end of the turn and locks the face down card from activating until then and then forces the enemy to use it if they can: forbidden droplet: sacrifice at least 1 card to negate an monster effect which doesnt matter at the end phase for trickstars and if they cant activate it its non destruction removal but so it dodges on destruction effects.

What made Meow Meow so good was the fact that it made EVERY copy of a prank kid main deck monster (up to 12 normal summonable monsters) into a starter/1 card combo. The effect that basically grants you double raigeki (and double feather duster, if you really need it) was just the cherry on top. dpYGO's video title for when this card was announced summed it up "Prank-Kids Meow-Meow could've had no effect for all I care.."

The main problem with Meow Meow Mu isn't even circumventing the self-tribute effects, it's because it's a LINK-1 Link monster that immediately starts their combo with only one main-deck monster. Prank-Kids gain insane advantage by being able to make a LINK-1 Link monster that trips their graveyard effects. Now, to open an extra deck monster, Prank-Kids NEED to draw a fusion spell in order to start their combo, or find a way to search one. Doodle-Doo requires 2 materials, so you'll have to use something like Prank-Kids Pranks to go into Doodle-Doo to get your combo going. In which case you've already overcome the requirement to get the ball rolling. Either way, it gives you an easy single point of failure if your opponent has Ash Blossom. Meow Meow Mu's graveyard effect is just icing on the cake. Its real problem is that it makes Prank-Kids a 1-card combo, that can be done with any Prank-Kids main deck monster. Making Battle Butler able to nuke your opponent's board twice at spell speed 2 isn't even the worst think that Meow Meow Mu does.

Jet Synchron was banned because it was a 1 card Halqifibrax (and Auroradon was in the game), but because Auroradon is banned the power level of Halqifibrax is lower. I could see them unbanning Glow-Up Bulb in the future too. Red Rose Dragon and Shooting Riser got limited because of because of the combo with Brave Engine, you would make Baronne with Red Rose Dragon + Gryphon Rider, Red Rose summon Roxrose Dragon, Roxrose search Basal Rose Shoot, Synchro Adventure Token + Roxrose for Shooting Riser, dump Fairy Tail - Snow, Basal Rose Shoot bring back either Redrose or Roxrose, Shooting Riser + Rose for Halqi, Halqi summon Deskbot 001, Halqi + Deskbot for Auroradon, Auroradon Tokens summon back Deskbot, Deskbot + Token for Cupid Pitch, Cupid Pitch increase level, Cupid Pitch + Token for Savage Dragon. You could also use Vishuda + Red Rose for Baronne and then use the Adventure stuff to go into Dagda > Verte > DPE to take an entirely different combo route with the Adventure stuff to Scythe Lock them going 1st. BASED got half their key cards hit lol

I think I'd rather main hand traps or higher impact cards like DRNM or Droplets, but maybe once it comes back to 3 (it and mind control), they might see some more consistent play. 1:55 to be fair to auroradon, it does have to tribute 2 cards to special from deck, and the target is just "One archetype card", not a tuner on summon. 2:28 1 is all you need. 3:30 actually, the reason why it's banned is because it's a link 1. Prank-kids main deck monsters all special the others when used as material for a LINK OR FUSION. Meaning that one prank kid in hand is full combo. 8:49 yes, that's the point. 1 imperm and halq is forever done, unless you can use avarice or something to reset it, which you usually don't have the time for. 13:51 as long as electrumite isn't legal pend is not best deck

In case anyone's wondering the sorta stuff you can do with Halq now that Auroradon is gone: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWrfnd8rdiCiMU Its essentially just a link climbing tool now really. If you're doing synchro climbing with Halq, it probably requires a lot of resources (so in that context, you're probably only doing that in something like Virtual World, Adamancipators or what have you; y'know, an already dedicated synchro deck as intended). When used more generically, the goal with Halq is basically just "try to climb into Apollousa, or if you're feeling ballsy, something like The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister." You really can't do anything crazy with Halq if you don't have enough resources after his summon. Jet Synchron and Halq, by itself, isn't really enough to do much of anything other than link climb, which was basically the problem that people had with the Deskbot Auroradon combo. As a result of this, i dont think banning Halq is necessary anymore. Unless Komoney fucks up and makes another stupidly good extender for it, it's fine I think. Removing it from the game at this point would just hurt rogue decks and other lower tier archetypes that could honestly use the additional tuner or the free Apollousa (which isnt that hard to beat over after 1-2 negates, plus not every deck can make Isolde work, so its fair to give those decks Halq as an option). Decks that were already good without Halq would still be good, end of story. Just ban busted end pieces like Savage Dragon if they're that toxic for the game. Personally, any deck that can put Savage on the board isnt healthy for the game, with or without Halq. Its why Drytrons got hit as hard as they did, it was just "build a board full of monster negaters." It basically works now like Isolde more or less outside of a full-on dedicated synchro deck. You really have to be playing another synchro engine with it now if you want to even remotely use cards like Borreload Savage Dragon for example, which i think is fairly healthy since there's more opportunities for disruption and you can't just one card combo with Halq into some crazy huge synchro monster. Like, don't get me wrong: Halq is still good. I can make a fucking link 6 with it and Jet Synchron depending on whats already on my board (and i can at least make a 3 material Apollousa for free), but I can't spam a bunch of synchros on the board for free using only Halq like i previously could with deskbots, you have to use a proper synchro engine with it if you want to do that. Its for sure a nerf, and an opponent opening with a single kaiju or lava golem or something has a lot more impact now I think. Granted, my deck's a meme deck and I don't go to locals, so idk how representative my stance on Halq is in regards to the current meta.

Gren maju is a high preforming rogue deck that specializes in going second, and we get desires back to 2, and we now have change of heart at 1, I can interrupted Kaiju slumber, change of heart for my Kaiju back, make a rank 8, and normal summon gren maju after dropping a desires or specialing an eater. However if you want to play a game that allows it, either play Traditional format, or unlimited format, if you do not like does 2, then play it in master duel.

I mean, the deck is fine with Meow Meow at 1 looking at the archetype itself. The problem with this game is that we have a shit ton of engines that are way too splashable and Prank Kids happens to be a deck that only needs to commit one card from their hand to have access to their archetype full combo. Due to that, they are really fucking flexible and you can play them with basically any other engine(s). They should've killed the Adventure Engine, it's fucking gross having to play every game against every archetype + adventure shit.

Halquifibrax can summon out 2 very good cards with its 2nd effect so Synchro summon for free: T.G Wonder Magician & Desert Locusts, Level 5 and 6 respectively, T.G can pop a spell/trap when summoned, And can quickeffect Synchro itself off, (Good for popping a Scythe, Then synchroing itself WITH the scythe to get Barrone?) Desert Locusts, Can force the opponent to discard one (Of their choice), And can also Synchro itself off, But being a level 6, It can synchro a little easier most of the time, So any other level 4 becomes a Barrone

side note you can also combo auroradon with other combos like the speedroid link monster. 2 wind monster on the field into the speedroid link monster use effect->search out an speedroid monster + get one in the graveyard->normal summon the one in the hand->auroradon. there is also a speedroid that can banish itself to special summon a speedroid tuner from the grave/hand. not as easy and effective as just using halq but still usable. maybe thats why they banned auroradon instead of halq because there are more options than just halq and halq just happens to be the easiest to use.

Honestly Auroradon and Verte should have been locked into their own archetype in the first place. If ever they want the two to be unbanned, it should be that Auroradon limits you to special summoning only Mecha Phantom Beasts for the rest of the turn after you summon the tokens, and Verte should have two Predap effect monsters as material or exclude fusion spells that use materials from the deck.

The way I see it is that Scape Goat = instant Tribrigade Shuraig because 4 beast tokens so you could use it outside of its archetype if you wanted, plus there was the whole Scapegoat + metamorph into Thousand Eyes Restrict

No, Yata was absolutely banned cuz it was too powerful but it has since been powercrept. In the current game people have too many resources, particularly the graveyard. Although I cab agree that it hasn't been unbanned cuz they didn't want to deal with any potential misuse of it rather than them being sure it was still too powerful.

Shooting Riser is probably, because there is a combo that can summon RDA King Calamity on your opponents turn that used 2 Shooting Risers.

The problem is that RDA King Calamity has the "When" effect which easily miss timing if opponent doing their combo or using lightning storm. If it consistent to pull out then it's reasonable but the fact if you're playing RDA deck already(the only time you even use king calamity) then why use haq in the first place when it doesn't help the deck summon hot red abyss and red supernova dragon

@@iistonton Except that nowadays they're too slow. By the time you have no useful cards in hand and an empty field you lose. Change of heart requires targeting and can be negated and in a way is just a Kaiju. Maxx C on the other hand is a round start card and it's completely BS. There's absolutely no good reason to bring a ridiculous card that punishes you for using a summoning mechanic. Master Duel has already shown how much of a mistake that card is if you don't have an ash or called by. If you play into it congrats you lose by wasting all your materials and allowing them to draw a lightning storm and forbidden droplet and if you don't play into it congrats you have a chance to get OTK'd.

Night Assailant was written correctly. It just got abused. Errata as a concept is meant to fix mistakes in the text, but that's not what happened to Night Assailant. It got the same treatment as Crush Card and other cards whose effects were outright changed via "Errata", making them new cards entirely.

I think Trishula is fine. It has not been in any meta deck for a long time. Also I believe Red Hot Supernova is easier than Trishula to be summoned and it has equal or even better effect than Trishula and can revive itself like DPE. The Red Hot Dragon deck is not really a thing either

Yata Garasu has been the reason for the forbidden part of the Banlists existence, and it's been there ever since. I think we should throw a giant Celebration of it. As example for a Joke, put Yata in every Competitive Deck for the Next Upcoming Tournaments and roll with it until Konami acknowledges the Effort and makes a Celebration themselves.
