Grocery prices there look similar to Australian grocery prices except the beef costs twice as much and the chicken breast about 1/3 as much.

Love how respectful and professional you are about filming businesses! I'm surprised with these prices. Many are the same or more expensive than the prices in AL, USA.

Yes because we showed a lot of imported brands, which are heavily taxed in almost every country. There are plenty of ways to buy groceries or just eat in general for cheaper. Thailand is one of the more expensive countries in South East Asia but still much cheaper than Canada or the United States or most of the world for that matter

besides these grocery stores, most restaurants or individual family buy their daily foods at fresh market like morning market or 24hr market located hundreds around bangkok some market gigantic size with more options and better price, good for restuarant vendors who buy once in a large amount

Yes, we mention this in the video. We do grocery store videos to show people what's at a typical grocery store and what the pricing is for people to compare to home. Just like when we lived in Costa Rica, farmers markets are much less expensive but you also don't get to shop in AC 😂

Thanks, ya it is more expensive then most people expect but they do have sales all the time and local markets are much less expensive, but you don't have the air conditioning to shop in.

The Schmirnoff is pricy in US dollars 😮. A few others too, however I know it depends on each product 😊.

So funny how here in the USA it's cheaper to cook at home! After a long day at work, I am forced to cook because it's more cost effective 😢.

@shaynadufresne my husband said it's the same in China. Super cheap and more convenient than cooking at home! I spoke with him at length last night; trying to convince him to let me move there instead of him coming here. He said we can get a nice 2 bedroom apartment there for $400! Meanwhile here in Hendersonville, Tennessee I am paying $1400 for a one bedroom apartment!! We can save one grand per month, plus I can teach English online, as opposed to working as a Medical assistant on my feet all day. I am praying to God that he can come here for a visit, then I make preparations to leave here when my lease is up in August 2025!!

You can find cheaper options in local markets but if someone wants to shop the same as they do from their home country it's always around the same price or more. Even in our Costa Rican grocery video you can see the same thing with imported foods. Street food is definitely the least expensive way to eat here in Thailand. Thanks for watching!
