Not going to watch this just yet, but have it saved for future viewing. This adventure and the one where you play wizards going through their tests (?) are the two I am most looking forward to playing and haven't yet. I tend to play Paladins, Wizards, and Rangers in fantasy RPGs over the years...so really looking forward to the Paladin solo-solo adventure.

Daniel do you have a couple of recommendations like this game, and the broken casket? I'm looking something light for a trip, with medieval/fantasy setting. Any suggestion besides these two that I should take a look?

I had high hopes for this expansion. I was really disappointed with it. Happy that you liked it, though. :) You might take a look at Four Against Ragnarok and Four Against the Titans if you like journalling type games. I think those also are in the same vein, though I do like those a great deal better.

Maybe a case of expectations. I had low expectations going in, so I was surprised by how much I like it.

This is a great tool though wilderness sandboxing. A lot of the tables/monsters can be mined from this one to help build an overland/forest sandbox adventure. Especially when KoD is combined with Crucible, Three Rings, Woes, CCC, and Wayfarers. Dark Waters is also handy when creating coastal settings and pirate coves if you are wanting to set your forest next to the sea or find a river that flows out into the ocean. That's one of the great things with 4AD, you can play each scenerio/expansion as is and as its own thing, or you can take it apart like legos and combine them with pieces from other books to create you own flavor or what you are looking for.

It is not clear to me how the rebellion level works. I assume it starts at 0 and increases by one each time one meets a traitor knight. Another thing I couldn't find was information about morale checks.

Out of curiosity, have you played the old Fantasy Trip solo game Grailquest, and if so how did this compare to it for you?

@@TheDungeonDive Thematically similar, being a solo RPG adventure about questing for the grail as an Arthurian knight. Worth a look if you ever get the opportunity - not sure if SJG's recent update of The Fantasy Trip included any of the old solo adventures but the original Metagaming edition probably isn't impossible to get at a reasonable price.
