The Swarm in the Mediterranean is not actually coming from santorini, but a submarine volcano just to the North East. It has create an extraordinary eruptions in the past. I believe that this called Mount Colombo and it is a submarine volcano

I'm fascinated by the story that the 1600 BCE Santorini eruption may have explained the parting of the sea, the escape of Moses and the Hebrews from Egypt and the subsequent demise of Pharoah's soldiers. It was not the Red Sea but the Reed Sea. The Reed Sea was actually a marshy coast between what is now Egypt and Sinai. The eruption of Santorini caused a massive tidal wave that spread across the Mediterranean. As the tidal wave approached, water was first drawn away from the coast allowing the Hebrews to pass. Pharoah's soldiers in pursuit of the Hebrews, got hit as the tidal wave made it to the coast.

Yes, I agree, the Thera eruption was associated with the Exodus. It was huge! Though it really ocurred around 1500 bc. The reason we cannot rely on the geological dating which uses radio carbon dating is because the amount of CO2 being spewed into the atmosphere at that time has skewed the numbers. I go with historical account. King Solomon reigned circa 1000 bc. He said during his reign, that the Exodus was 480 years before him. That puts the Exodus at around 1480-1500 bc where archaelogists have put it. Plato mentions it in his book about Atlantis as being roughly 900 years before him. Plato was 500 bc, therefore, around 1480 bc was the eruption. The text says 9000, but the Greeks counting system was different than ours today. The Israelites were passing along the coast through "The Sea of Reeds", not the Red Sea. Even the King James notes, "The Sea of Reeds". The 400 to 1000 ft tsunami wiped out all of the coastlines and cities in the eastern Mediterranean. It caused all shipping to cease as the water passages were all filled with mud and debris. And that is the description that Plato gives in his account.

@Iambrendanjames Yes, there is. It's a myth there isn't. That myth is being spread by secularists who hate the Bible and won't recognize it as an historical document. But the British Museum is full stele, papyrii, and other accounts, too numerous to cite here.
