The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

R.I.P Burt Bacharach, thank you for the memories with your time with Dionne Warwick during her peak in the 60's. You were a big part of my generation, you GenXers and Millennials will never know what you missed regarding his music with Dionne.

This version was typical of the time. Burt made several easy listening versions of his songs. And this records were very beloved by a lot of record buyers and often played on radio stations. By the way, the Kesslers are pretty funny women who, despite their male acquaintances, mostly lived together. When they met Elvis Presley in Paris, they were unimpressed. They also said that Rock Hudson has been fairly open about his homosexuality in private. They were very upset around 1965 when Dean Martin referred to them both as the "Goering Sisters" while rehearsing a show. Both had a very difficult childhood with a very violent father and were certainly more successful abroad than in Germany

Now you've gone WAY too far. Dionne Warwick's version of this song is the GOLD STANDARD, that what which other verions are measured by. This was o.k. but lets not get crazy. This song IS Dionne Warwick, she OWNS it

The appearance of the Kessler twins in the show was in 60's justified by their popularity in Europe, especially in Italy and Germany, but it must be recognized that this performance is not the best tribute to a great musician like Bacharach...
