Neither side would. And that's no disrespect to them - the gulf is just too great.

This was not a penalty

In the modern game it’s 100% a pen. Even the VAR in the PL would stop the game to award this type of penalty.

is his hand by his side? no.

@@andyh4747that’s not the rule though, is it? The hand has to be in a position that is not natural for the circumstance in order for it to be a foul. The Swansea player is jumping whilst sandwiched between 2 Burnley players. Both of his arms cannot be by his side in that scenario as that isn’t how you jump. Add collision with an opposing player to the situation and the obvious fact that the Swansea player had absolutely no intention of handling the ball means it isn’t a handball. Ref got it wrong, but these things happen.

@@alexdavies3428 sorry, what was the reason his hands were up?
@alexdavies342812 күн бұрын
@@andyh4747only 1 hand was in the air. Jay Rodriguez is in contact with Grimes in the exact position where Grimes’ arm would be if left at his side, so it would be in an unnatural position even if it were lower as it cannot go down to his side. Grimes was also jumping, which would explain the arm being higher. Compound the 2, alongside the fact that Grimes knows nothing about it, and the handball rules are not broken as per the update given by UEFA last month. But as I said, we’re watching it in slow motion and have replays. The ref doesn’t. He got it wrong, but these things will always happen.

@alexdavies3428 why was his hand up to begin with?
