I think a battle with Hamas in northern Gaza a couple of months ago, was reported by Israel to have four casualties on their side, while Hamas, as shown in a video here on EI, killed ten soldiers during that attack.

Speaking of Israel's “security”, I'd just like to mention something a little odd that I noticed a few years ago when Stephen Harper was Prime Minister of Canada. Harper is an evangelical Christian, I'm sure you're familiar with this movement, they worship Jews and Israel and believe that Jesus will return to rule the world from Jerusalem once the Jews have managed to take over the whole map of ancient biblical Israel. Harper had a large number of Jews on the Supreme Court of Canada, an anomaly. I am a South African. We have so much work to do and I don't want to minimise the pain of those economically left behind, but it is so much better. Our kids go to schools together, we can fall in love, cheer the same sports teams, help each other through floods and tornadoes, work and study together, speak each other's languages. Just two weeks ago it was my son's turn to organise a hike for his scout patrol- they hiked 10km along the Durban beaches- kids of all races, friends having an adventure together. It wasn't possible when I was his age.
