Another halloumi fan. :) Kyde and Eric love it too and I pointed them at havarti as being similar and also good ... and suggested going to France and trying *all* the cheeses. If you're not going to France any time soon, there's Waitrose. It's not France, but they tend to have an impressive cheese aisle. Epoisses is pretty nice but ... don't take it into someone's home without permission. It stinks.

To explain the mash situation - if you eat in the restaurant you are expected to take a selection of their hot sauce bottles to your table e.g. garlic, wild herb, mango & lime, lemon etc (they're the bottles next to the cutlery 2:10) and most people I know only use the mash as a vehicle for their fav sauce flavour. Saying, let's go for a cheeky Nandos, is because it's a little bit hot, a little bit unhealthy, a little bit spicy, and a little bit off The Beaten Track. (Fast food wise) It's also, because it's not the thing you would do every day, because it's not the cheapest take out, or eat in, in the world, but it's oh so soooo good.. (As you've discovered) It's a little bit cheeky, and a little bit woah.. And a little bit mmmm.. and a little bit 'let's brighten up our day with some cheeky food'. "Hey guys, who fancies a cheeky Nandos?" It's just gone down in the Book of British phraseology, so that it's stuck in people's imagination - and now everyone says it. I suppose, it's a bit colloquial, but it's similar to us saying 'Who fancies a Snacky Dee's?' (McDonald's) Or, 'Who fancies a cheeky half?' (Half a pint down the pub) You get the Jist. 😉☺️

One thing I would probably advise to do is to sit in the restaurant and eat the food so it all comes out hot, fresh and it’s all in front of you to pick at. Makes it a more enjoyable experience... My favourite combination from Nando’s is the Butterfly Chicken (boneless chicken fillet cut in half and folded out) cooked in a Peri Tamer sauce (Pronounced Peri Tay-Mur) with Peri Salted Chips, Garlic Bread and Halloumi Fries. The Peri Tamer sauce is a sweet Barbecue flavour and makes the chicken taste incredible. Definitely ask them for an extra pot of the Peri Tamer sauce to dip your chicken and sides in. All washed down with the bottomless sugar free Coca-Cola. Now for the definition of a “Cheeky Nando’s”... I guess it stems from teenage slang, specifically teenage ‘lads’ in the UK. The slang definition of cheeky is essentially to do something quickly. For example “let’s pop outside for a cheeky cigarette” or “let’s go for a cheeky pint tonight”. Since Nando’s became popular, especially with the youth of the UK, the phrase was used, became popular through social media captions, tweets etc and the phrase became viral and just stuck. Now it’s used almost comically, jokingly and sarcastically. Kind of like the phrase Netflix and Chill too I suppose... Tried to explain that as best as I could. Glad you guys enjoyed Nando’s!

Didn't South Africa run all of the whites out of the country at gunpoint? They can't even get refugee status. I heard that some of them are making a go in Russia.

I’m not sure if you saw my comment on the last video but if I have one recommendation for you it is Jersey in the Channel Islands! They were occupied during WW2 and have a tonne of history like harbouring a king to keep him safe from England and much more. Another interesting thing to visit is Devils Hole. There’s just so much I cannot even list it all just google it. Trust me I’m from jersey!
@martinw2456 жыл бұрын
Yep spot on re the channel islands. Guernsey is fantastic jersey too. Just got back from the neighbouring island of Sark. No cars on the island and fantastic walks. My favourite place. You are very lucky to live on Jersey, I'm jealous.

Crazy how they are judging all of these individually 😂 like eating mash on it’s own, it’s a side dish!😂 got to try all these on a plate, so have a bit of chicken, with mash, a bit of sauce, a bite of halloumi. The flavours goes SO good all together

"The Nando’s story started centuries ago, when the Portuguese explorers set sail for the East. The winds of Africa called them ashore and it was there that they were introduced to the African Bird’s Eye Chilli - more commonly known as PERi-PERi. A spice like no other, they used it to create a unique PERi-PERi sauce that put fire in their bellies and ignited passion in their souls." www.nandos.com/story/

Nando's is cool and all but if you really want to be one of the cool kids get down to Aldi and buy a chilled spatchcock chicken and their chilled loaded fries. For £5.50 and 60 minutes in an oven you've got a better tasting Nandos. In my opinion of course.

If you want to know how good mashed potato can be, if ever see Aligot on a menu, go for it. It is creamed potato, blended with Cantal cheese and garlic, beautiful. You may find it difficult to come across outside of France, especially the Auvergne region, but is so good.

A cheeky Nando’s is when you and the lads ave a spontaneous yet dapper idea which is to go daan to the local Nando’s and enjoy some cheeky chicken and chips, get the lads together grab all the sauces grab a water cup and fill it with Fanta. After ya belly filled with perinaise, head down to the boozer and enjoy a cheeky pint with the lads
@hencakk5 жыл бұрын
You can have a ‘cheeky’ anything. Like, you would ask a friend ‘fancy a cheeky pint?’ If you want to go to the pub. And then you’d say ‘shall we have a cheeky ruby on the way home?’ Which basically means shall we go for a curry. It’s one of those wonderful English words that doesn’t really mean anything, but is part of our vernacular.

Also,they have frozen yoghurt fat free...if your sitting down there,you can purchase this desert and u can keep going back for as much as u want,unless this has changed the last year or so... A cheeky one,is like having so,thing to eat or drink that maybe u shouldn’t be having,but u know is awesome 👌👌🤤🤤
