GATE exam is for M Tech courses in IITs, NITs and other colleges. CAT exam is for doing MBA in IIMs. For jobs in technical research, core sectors, teaching in colleges, PSU jobs do GATE. For working in Corporates as Consultant, Manager, do MBA in General, Marketing, Finance, HR, Business etc.,
