the problem is, one big creature is not enough to win a full pauper game, pauper has so much good spot or single target removal, that one troll isnt enough.

I wonder if fog of war (brothers war) would be something to test? It’s a fog/life gain if your opponents go wide. Other than that there is a 3 drop green creature in adventures into the forgotten realm that is 2/3 vigilante and gains some life.🤷🏻‍♂️ Those come to mind just off the top.

For life gain, maybe a Gift of Orzhova? Or Pulse of Murasa, you could instant speed target opponent's stuff before Exhume/Cascade resolves

Pauper is so cool. Has access to SSG, Violent Outburst, Exhume, Snuff Out, Dread Return... All balanced by the reanimation targets being super underwhelming

I know we need removal spells that dont get hit off of cascade, and Spinning Darkness can be free and gain some life. But I really don't like the card for the deck. It doesn't seem like its free often enough. There never seems to be enough black cards in the yard for the first copy, let alone the second. I'm thinking of removal options that are priced like Murder, but with some sort of cost reduction if you meet a given criteria, making it into something closer to Terror and other 2 CMC removal spells. I'm blanking on the names of the cards, though. Let me hit uo Scryfall for a bit. I really like the Discerning Taste idea from another commenter. And Last Rites from another!
