Proof that Big Time Rush and Jonas are Literally the Exact Same Show - Part 2

I realized, I may have missed a few clips the first time around...
For the record, these shows came out around the same time, and were therefore in development around the same time (Big Time Rush was cast up to 2 years before it aired). I'm not claiming that either of these are ripoffs of each other, I love them both!
These similarities are pretty obviously logical progressions from the concept about a sitcom about a boyband, so the similarities make sense. It's just fun to point out exactly how many they managed to execute similarly.

And when you compared 9:16 to 9:42 you also could of used the clip from the Big Time Rush episode “Big Time Jobs” when James walks into a waiting room for an audition for Beracuda and sees all the guys are dressed like him

Thank you! When it comes to BTR, I’ve seen that show since childhood so I know almost all of it by heart. However I’m new to Jonas. A lot of these came to me as I was watching Jonas through and thinking “Didn’t BTR also do this?” This second part was comparisons I missed the first time but noticed as I was rewatching some Jonas episodes again.

I feel like one reason why they have similar moments is because they both rely on some film/Hollywood stereotypes (hiding in a garbage bin, over the top security guards). How would you compare the shows in general, like in terms of interesting characters, storylines etc?

Simon Bakker I feel like BTR has more interesting storylines than Jonas does. I loved Jonas season 1 because of its over the top tone and wacky characters but I feel a part of it was lost when they transitioned to season 2, because the tone became too serious for its own good. The female characters in BTR interested me more and it kept the goofy tone throughout, which in contrast highlights Jonas’ main weakness, focusing on the Joe/Stella romance too much and not being engaging while doing so. The main three Jonas boys have potential to me to be just as interesting as BTR with their distinct personalities, but the writing in season 2 especially I feel prevented them from totally shining through. I also feel the writing started to shaft Kevin in favor of Joe and Nick later on, which was a shame to me as he was my favorite character. I think Jonas shines most when its stories are similar in tone and comedy to BTR, such as in Pizza Girl and Cold Shoulder.

One thing I liked about BTR, besides its engaging writing and wacky stories, was how it let every character really shine. All four boys get character and even development as the show goes on, which I feel really allows the viewer to be attached to them even more. You really get to see how they adjust to living in Hollywood over time, and you learn more about who they are as people. Granted, that happens when you have four entire seasons as opposed to Jonas’ 2.

I’d like to add though that one Jonas LA episode especially stuck out to me and that was “And...Action!” Because it allowed all three boys to be featured, had a rather goofy plot and allowed Kevin to support Joe in a heartwarming way. Season 2 I feel would’ve been better had more of its episodes been like this. Anyway thanks for listening, I hope that wasn’t too much for you, ha.

Kendall and Logan are split: Nick, the smart one and the sorta leader of the group(in the show) James: Joe, both are the most self centered of the group and seem to care most for their hair and face Carlos: Kevin, Both are the “comic relief” of the group and are the most unsmart ones ( that sounded dumb😂) Katy: Frankie, both are the trouble making mischievous younger/youngest sibling Freight Train (BTR): Big Man (Jonas), both are body guards and could probably be brothers but I think freight train is bigger than big man
