I am happy that its running and driving again.. My comment is not meant negative, I have always been nice/kind in my comments so here goes. Travis, what did you learn from the fire? I have been excited before and just want to try and drive or as many years ago, same kind of truck, parked outside under a maple tree, leaves accumulated between the cab and bed, plus leaves in the bed of the truck... a couple miles down the road and my truck burnt to the ground! It had about twenty thousand miles since new but seldom drove it. I had paid up full price as I bought it new. I lost my truck due to the fact that cleaning out those leaves caught fire and it burnt hot! You had a ton of old rats accumulations in the insides, why wouldn't they pack it under the hood and of course this time, on top of the exhaust. Many videos out there show what rodents do to vehicles so that said, a little patience, a quick clean first so this doesn't happen again. That is a nice power brake, few options as the dual horns was extra and factory dual tanks was a option plus rear slider window. I do believe the engine is the 352, most were as they share same configurations. Truly the better of all their big block FE engines. Again, not bullying you, just advising that patience is a nice virtue. You can bust rings from over fueling, as I am a mechanic from the fifties, thousands of repairs done to these rigs, and my favorite model truck line.

I really enjoyed watching this one Travis!!! So glad you were able to get that fire out. Something similar to that happened to me on my garden tractor a few years ago. I was out in the yard trying to mulch up a bunch of leaves in the fall (I live in the woods). Got ready to take a break and shut the tractor off. Went in the house to get a drink of water and when I went back out, a fire had started where the dried leaves had packed up against the muffler on the tractor. Panic almost set in until I was able to grab something to clear the leaves away from the muffler and stomp the fire out with my feet. If i had been in the house for a minute or two longer the tractor would have gone completely up in flames on me. You also made a huge karma deposit by taking all the trouble to trailer that truck all the way back over to her house to take her for a ride in her old truck. Major kudos for you and your friend for doing that for her. Major score on an awesome old 3/4 ton Ford!!!! Keep doing what you are doing and I'll keep watching!!!! Cool pumps at the end. Was also good to see your Dad again as well.

It wasnt the motor that caught fire... Pack rats made their nest on top of the exhaust ... I doubt they even saw the nest . But to be fair , all the flamable material on the ground where it sat for 20 yrs should've clued them in ... I grew up on a farm & a tractor we rarely used had piles of acorns & hickory nuts (squirrels) on top of the motor . I started it & headed into the woods to pull in logs for firewood... I turned around after cutting log to length to see the tractor with flames raging .. Thank God for snow on the ground ! Even at that , the fuel in the tank was boiling . It was diesel , so it mostly burned the paint off , but to this day I check for critter nests , ect .

6 minutes in and I am liking this truck a lot! An FE V8 (360 or 390), heavy duty manual 4 speed transmission, virtually no rust, good completage, nice color combination. It’s got the lots of nuts wheels and brakes. A heavy rear bumper. If the trim is not there on the rear passenger side and box, it’s still locatable. For not a lot of money. I found both the cab corner and bedside trim on my first try. The dash pad is also available, but the ones I found were more expensive.

The timing is to high on the truck. Fords are very touchy when it comes to timing. I believe its supposed to be set at 6 degrees before TDC. Points on .17. That engine is more than likely a 360. You can check it by measuring the stroke. I believe it measures around 3.5 if its a 360.Its around 3.784 if its a 390. A wood dowel down the spark plug hole with the piston all the way down then mark it at the top of the plug opening and measure. Not trying to be a know it all but I've been tinkering with Fords my whole life. Thought this might help since you said you were more familiar with Chevys. I just recently restored a 70 model just like this and sold it. Love your gas pumps also. I really enjoy your channel .😊
