@jeffhowser1820 And you can pretty much re do the interior , upholstery, headliner, dash, door panels, carpet, for around 2 to 3 thousand. I'm a lifelong Southern California native . I have my parents 58 Cadillac they bought in 1960, and a 68 Mustang I bought in 1977 my senior year of high school. I've had both cars interiors redone in correct fabrics, grains, factory correct colors. The turned out totally awsome, like new. Both cars were purchased new here, and have just a little light brown surface rust on the undercarriage here and there. Nothing that needs intervention. Now, the political situation here, that's another story...😵💫

Dad had a 60 Galaxie. Was x police car, had the big V8 with a 3 speed automatic. Still had the spot lights on it. He got it at the Air base where he worked. Air men shipping out would sell their stuff cheap rather than pay to transport, especially if going over seas. The motor had a miss, like the one above. He sold it to a guy who destroyed it. Never got paid. I wanted it but still had a Few years before getting a permit. The project above will need the motor and trans pulled and gone through, at the miles on it, with the old leaded gas, it'll need the works to be a decent driver again. Too far to chase for me. But a solid body, for a start.

Manual steering and four wheel drum brakes would have been standard back in 1960. Power steering would have been considered a luxury that most folks would have bypassed due to the extra cost. Power options were seldom found at that juncture in time except on the most high-end models. Folks were far more frugal back in the day!
