I'm not a French Air person, I'm only 5.7, but from what I understand the Mirage F1 is already outclassed by everything at top tier

The Mirage F1 is an early 1970 jet, and in the game we have planes that are already form the 1980, like the MiG-23MLD that was introduced in 1982 or the JA37 introduced in 1980. That doesn't mean that the Mirage F1 won't compete at top tier, but it's very likely that it will dominate like new top tiers usually does.

The F1 was historically a pretty good fighter, even against more sophisticated aircraft (like the F14 in the Iran/Irak war). If it gets his way in the game, player will have access to a well turning Mach 2 fighter, with a 120°x60° scanning radar (like the actual phantom) up to 100 km + range. With a configuration of 4 to 6 missiles (but I don't think Gaijin will add the 6 one), equiped with S530F missile which is a very good SARH missile, around 30G max overload and 25 km engagement range in the best conditions. It will lacks of ''look down, shoot down'' (no doppler) capabalities but I think it has some very good argument to fight well in the actual meta, dependent on Gaijin balancing.

Gaijin's been hating on france since the release of the nation, be it with repair costs, or bullshit weakspots on tanks. Also, adding the F4 EJ KAI ( a plane that first flew in 1984 and entered service in late 1989) is totally fine, but adding the Mirage F1 ( first prototype flew in 1966, first production model made it's first flight in early 1973, entered service at the end of the same year) is not possible bEcAuSe gAjiN ... For fucks sake right now France is stuck with the Mirage IIIE (entered service in 1966, the base Mirage III first flew in the late 50's) at 10.3, with only 3 missiles, vs 6 or 8 for any other plane from every other nation, the MiGs too are more modern ( the MiG 23 were converted to the MLD standard between 1982 to 1985, and the MiG 21 Bis were assembled around 1975). Also the J7E is from 1987, the JA 37 first flew in 1974 and entered service in 1979. But they prefered adding the 999999999999999999th CAS plane to the game over a competitive top tier for France xDDD.

The story of the apache and the MI28 is actually kinda sad because the apache was never added to the army because when they did tests with the apache it faced an enemy (strv121) and the strv121 could actually defeat the apache before it could do so to the strv that's why it never entered service. They were searching for a anti tank helicopter btw. The mi28 never entered service because it was lacking information and guides and they even had to test fly it with a russian pilot and a swedish gunner that knew half of it. (edit) They could get some finnish stuff or norwegian (don't know if they have anything important) but then it would make more sense to make it an scandinavian section and devide that section into pieces. Finnish tree, norwegian tree and swedish tree. At that point you would have trees with not much vehicles in it but it would bring more variaty to the game. You could think of some other names for countries such as ukraine and russia. Give them a section and devide it into 2 trees. Give the ukrainians for example the oplot and the russian what they've got now. This is just a simple explanation of that. It's way more complicated than this I know.

I feel like this might be a special case, where minor tech trees need to sort of push the envelope of what can be added to stay competitive. It's a door we need to be very careful with opening though. I mean with the logic of "they tested it for a week" you could at pretty much any German or Russian vehicle to the US and British trees and the other way around.

4:25 PF-10 is the designation of the pylon for PL-11, which is the air to air variant of the HQ-61C with the Italian Apside seeker. PL-10 is the most modern IR AAM deployed and probably won't be in the game any time soon.

I feel like Gaijins logic with the swedish helicopter tree is that since Sweden really never operated basically any helicopters with armaments the apache and mi-28a are the only viable options. While they really don't belong in the swedish tree, it's basically the only way for swedish helicopters to be useful.

the entire list of helicopters considered for testing were MDH AH-64A Apache, Bell AH-1W Super Cobra, Agusta A 129 Mangusta, Eurocopter Tiger, Atlas/Denel CSH-2 Rooivalk, Mil Mi-28 'Havoc' and Kamov Ka-50 'Hokum'. Out of which the AH-64A and Mi-28 were selected for a four week testing period but the actual aircraft that would have been sold from the soviet side was the MI-28N. Both aircraft were tested in multiple missions including, strike both on land and on the Swedish archipelago, air avoidance among others. The apache proved to have compatibility issues with Swedish radio equipment and experienced some problems with the navigation system while the Mi-28 had weapons problems with unexploded armament and poor boresight functionality of the main gun. The apache was planned for further testing between 1999 and 2000 but at least I couldn't find any information if these test ever took place, the Eurocopter Tiger was supposed to undergo testing in 1997 but again same results in regards to the testing, no idea. The fact of the matter is that Sweden nor any other Nordic nation operate any attack helicopters so the whole thing is still a bit of a stretch

Regarding the one time use of the swedish Apache or Ka: This szenario is already in game. Arent there at least 2 US tanks in the japanese tree which they just used for one time testing? But it maked sense to bring them it cause the tech tree needed it? So I would give it a go as long as its really needed. And in the swedish heli case it simply is. Like the tanks for Japan

Just the one, I believe. The M47 was tested and used for ideas that went into their own ST-A and Type 61 series tanks, and not only was it never adopted but was never even planned to be adopted. The other US vehicles (M4A3(76)W, M16, M19A1, M24, M41, M42) were all used in active service with the JGSDF. Japan does have another vehicle which is similar to the Swedish helis, though: Heavy Tank No.6, which is a Tiger E that Japan bought for evaluation but wound up selling back to Germany before it ever left mainland Europe because the Germans needed it more and Allied subs kept sinking German supplies to Japan. In a way, the Swedish helis are more deserving of being added than the Japanese M47 and Tiger E, because they were actually tested in Sweden and genuinely considered for service, whereas the Tiger never made it to Japan and the M47 was never supposed to enter service. I fully support Sweden getting these helicopters, it just makes sense.

At any rate, France *should* be fine whenever Rank 8 aviation happens, but only if Gaijin starts actually releasing French jets at the same time other nations get their equivalents. After all, you've got the Mirage 2000 and Rafale. (And yes, I'm quite sure that in the next couple of years jets will get modern enough that the Rafale will be needed. Whether it's a good idea or not, Gaijin will keep going more modern.) There's also the Mirage 4000 prototype, which would be an F-15 equivalent.

7:21 IMO, if that's enough of a link, then that opens the door for a bunch of vehicles to be added to the US (100% for sure as premiums I'd think/hope) due to Test and Evaluation Squadrons such as the 4477th & 422D at Tonopah Test Range & Groom Lake/Area 51. The door would be open for the US to get multiple soviet based aircraft & variations (MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-29, Su-20, Su-22, Su-27). There's also the Mi-35 Hind for Helicopters, Major Caleb Nimmo, a United States Air Force Pilot, was the first American to fly the Mi-35 Hind, or any Russian helicopter, in combat.

I was expecting the YAH-56 Cheyenne as the new rank 6 premium helo (would be a best fit as a battle pass vehicle). I was expecting the Cheyenne, because it would be the closest equivalent the US has to the Ka-50. The Comanche and Raider are likely much more advanced than most of our current helicopters and would not fit.

A South Korean ROKMC Gunnery Sergeant graduated USMC Drill Instructor school. Therefore, everything in the South Korean military should be added to the US tree. Or vice versa, or something. Make a Korean tree that includes every American vehicle, again. I'm sure an ROK pilot or tanker has been in every American vehicle.

Current South Korean SAM is based off the french Crotale NG system and both French and Korean gov had an agreement to share system mprovement. Also sent the autoloader tech to them for their K2. herefore everything in Korea should be in the french tech tree.

As a swede that mains sweden I'm gonna have to agree that it doesn't make sense for It to get the Mi-28A The apache got a pass because obviously we'd be fudged without some type of attack heli and atleast they did messed around with testing the heli It got a nice lil paint job and piloted by swedes While the Mi-28 was not painted and not even piloted by a sweden, think the pilot was russian and the co-pilot or gunner was a swede who never even got to use the controls so it makes even less sense for this to be added All that being said I can't wait to blow up russian tanks and helis in this thing just for the sweet revenge of all those bs moment from dying to them, I could only imagine the range some might feel 😘
