Honestly, I think battery life is the single most important aspect for many people. It's the reason I switched from Android to the 13 Pro Max! And yes, it is WILD. I'm getting two whole days as well and I've never experienced this before.

@@Hymhum it’s amazing. The battery life is insane I couldn’t kill it if I tried. Face ID is also way faster than I thought it would be so I don’t miss my fingerprint sensor as much. iOS is way better than I remember it now that they got widgets and all that. The camera upgrade is also insane. Won’t be going back to android probably

Lol, iPhone has ALWAYS had worse batteries than android. Their lifespan is WAY shorter. After 1-2 years, they lose 40-60% capacity. Do some research. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I completely agree! I got the 13pro Max on release day and as I was coming from the XR, I have been more than impressed by the battery life. Currently last charged on Monday 12PM, it’s Tuesday 05:52 and I am on 40%.

I never had battery issue with most iphone. Charge while driving, charge while at the gym, sleep. I don't get how so many ppl have battery issue. Possibly because I have charge located all over house. Kitchen, living room, next to my bed, working space., a the gym . If I need to answer a call or change to certain music I use my apple watch.

My first “smart phone” was the 5S. Bought it myself after settling in a full time job. Used it for years then upgraded to the 7+ just after the X came out as I didn’t see the need for the latest one. Still using the 7+ now but have just ordered the 13 Pro Max as this phone is now dying.. battery needs charging twice a day, won’t charge unless in a certain position, screen cracked, etc... 😅

I use my 12 pro max all day every day. The weight was so much that using my pinky while holding it one handed was causing pain in my forearm all the way from my pinky finger to my elbow. I had been using it one handed for hours a day for months. I got the MagSafe pop socket and it has been clutch. 100% recommended if you wanna use the 12 or 13 Max.

I played a couple hours of Genshin the other day, among all the other media consumption (KZbin, Netflix, Facetime, etc.), and ended the day with 30%. Really great if you ask me, I would have had to charge it mid-day with previous phones.

@@vnstsoom7804 Huge upgrade. 120hz. cameras. batteries. XDR Display with better contrast ratio + XDR as mentioned, main upgrade is 120hz for me though. Cameras are MENTAL. Battery is just insane. Front facing camera is also a lot better. Build quality etc. A15 blitzes the A12. worth every penny

I had a Nexus 6 and swore I’d never go back to a huge phone again. The Nexus 6 was wide AF and curved back always made it feel obvious that in pocket. Then I moved to iPhone X then 11 Pro. Always thought the 5.8” size was perfect…but then I just got a 13 Pro Max this time for battery life and man I realized I’ve been missing a huge screen. The Max actually fits my hands better than the 11 Pro and it’s even made tying more accurate for me. It’s also not nearly as wide as the Nexus 6 so while the screen is notably bigger than 6 it’s fully manageable. I have large but not freakishly big hands.

@@dylanpower1438 yeah. Mine said wouldn’t ship until the 12th then it said 6th - 12th and shipped on 6th. Maybe yours will come earlier. I got the blue one so they said it may get here quicker since less orders on it. The blue isn’t like the pics. It’s hardly noticeable as a color. Yeah… Mine not only crashed a lot, crop 5 pics and crash etc. I use it for work taking photos and after 5-10 non flash photos, it overheats really bad. I have to put it in the fridge for 5 minutes then take 5 more pics and so on. Can’t wait to not deal with that. Bummed that several apps aren’t updated for iOS 15 and won’t even launch now like Layout. It’s stupid you pay $1500 or more and they don’t give you a power plug! It’s a type C connector so a lot don’t have that. I do for my iPad Pro but need another now. Trying the MagSafe charger too. Not here yet. I didn’t have time to fully set it up. It’s finished syncing and all. About to start it up and try it out.

Stick with your 13 mini, the pro max is too big for a pocket, it’s heavy and you can’t use it one handed. I don’t care about the battery or the cameras of the pro max because I get by just fine with the mini, it’s the best EDC phone available today IMO.

Nobody has mentioned the awesome looking macro capability of the 13 pro max camera. I am probably saving money by buying the 13pro max instead of a macro lens for my dslr camera, (and to replace my hundred-year-old iPhone SE! ) I can’t wait for it to arrive !

BRAVO Everyday Dad! Awesome review! We're absolutely on the same page here. Yes, I love all the upgrades Apple packed into the 13 Pro Max but, for me, it's definitely ALL about the phenomenal battery life! Because as we all know, it doesn't matter how many leading edge features a phone has if using them means searching for a charger after only a few hours of screen on time. I have positively no reservations about implementing every single feature this phone offers without the slightest hint of battery anxiety. I've used all sorts of phones both iOS and Android and this is the first phone I've ever been able to say that about. Period! BTW, I bought the Pro Max 1TB. Keep up the great work!

I’ve seen insane results intake mine off the charger around 230 AM and use my phone for GPS and podcasts and at 6 PM I was at 65

I think that because the Mini 13 consumes less power because of the smaller display, a Mini 13 plus a MagSafe battery would give you more battery time than a 13 pro max plus MagSafe battery.

I gave my mom my 11 pro max 256GB storage & I got me the 13 pro max on the release date. Both are Nice phones. A15 chip, 120Hz, bigger better battery, bigger screen, 5G, updated camera, 512GB storage and Sierra Blue. My mom had a 6S with only 16GB storage & she couldn’t update iOS or add Apps & had terrible battery life. The charging port is damaged also. She’s happy & so am I.

We are at the point in technology where the only advancements for phones is better battery and better cameras. Speed is no longer a factor anymore. This is my hint that smartphones will be replaced with something bigger, glasses/augmented reality

I’m a heavy phone user even with working 10 hours a day. Even so I never have to worry about charging it. I’ve had multiple instances where I’ve fallen asleep while videos play and I wake up with it at 20% at least. Combined with my anker charging brick I never have to worry about low battery.

With you on the battery life. It was pretty "ok" for the first three days for me since it was indexing a lot of my iCloud files, but afterwards, I've been getting AT THE MINIMUM all day battery. My only suggestion would be to turn App Analytics off. This thing drains your battery with no tangible benefit. "Help Apple improve its products"? Apple, improving your products is your job.

While the primary phone camera doesn't allow to tweak the shutter speed and ISO settings precisely to be able to shoot the moon, I use the "DSLR Camera" app. You'll be surprised once you explore that app. :)

One of the top wishes on my wish list is that Apple gets rid of the “iPhone lineup” and just makes it 1 phone that you choose the requirements for… for example you want to buy the 2021 iPhone, so you go to their website and click “Buy” you choose if you want the extra macro feature, or if you want the pro grade cameras, or whether or not you want a mini, regular or max screen size & the same thing goes for their iPads, MacBooks & iMac’s It would just be more aesthetically appealing… however I know that this would cause multiple complications and I won’t even begin with those so I’ll just keep on dreaming I guess 😶‍🌫️

This year, the 13 Pro Max doesn't make sense to me. I'd only recommend it to people, who want one handheld device, and don't want a tablet. And even those should carefully consider, whether they truly need it. I've used the plus/max sized iPhones since 6s+, but I got so sick and tired of 12 Pro Max, I just stopped using it. It's just so excessively big and heavy. Fortunately, this year, there is no difference in the camera system between the Pro, and Pro Max, which renders the Pro Max pointless, imho. And I don't buy the "battery" argument. My 13 Pro lasts 2 days on my standard usage, and easily the entire day, when I'm constantly glued to it. I expect the Pro to outsell the Pro Max by a landslide. The only two phones that make sense to me this year are 13 mini, and 13 Pro. And that's why I bought them.

So I was in the same boat. Preordered both a regular 13 Pro and a 13 Mini. Upgrading from a 3 year old trusty XR btw. I honestly loved the Mini’s size, but I did notice the smaller screen was a little too small for my use cases, so I returned it, and yes, the lack of Pro Motion was noticeable. I used the regular Pro for 13 days, and throughout that time, while using the phone as I normally do, I could not honestly see that much of a difference from my XR, as they are the same screen size (except for the cameras and ProMotion of course) but the battery life was surprisingly comparable to my XR, which was on 89% health. I mean yes, the Pro lasted longer, but not significantly so. I initially chalked this up to the whole new phone adjusting to my usage argument, but after 13 days, there was no quantifiable improvement. So, I started eyeing the Pro Max. I happened to snag one which became available at an Apple store near me. I swapped my sim into it and restored from my iCloud backup. The difference was shockingly apparent. Despite setting it up just a couple of days ago, I only just charged it last night, only because I had a full day out today. It was 77% out of the box and it just sipped power. It was just more apparent than I thought it would be. And then there’s the larger screen. Yes, the phone is bigger, but honestly, 30grams is not that huge a deal. And dimension wise, it’s 6mm wider. The main difference is height. I used both phones for a day, deliberating, and finally went back to Apple, returning the regular Pro. Basically, compared to the XR, the 13 Pro Max feels like a real upgrade in every way. YMMV of course, but looks like I’m finally satisfied! And yes, the $100 difference between the 256gb versions seems like a good enough deal.

I bought the 12 last year but the battery is flat out terrible. I can't go through a full day without having to plug it into a charger. For this reason alone I got the 13 pro max.
