Samsung Dex mode is no joke, I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 with a broken display, been using it as my second laptop on dex mode connected to a dell monitor which also charges the phone, with USB C with bluetooth mouse/keyboard. most energy efficient setup for me.

@@cobaltblue5523 I currently have the Dell U2419HC monitor, the usb c for display input/output and charge the device at the same time, and 4 usb type A for various dongles if you are using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I got a logitech wireless mouse n keyboard bundle which works perfectly fine with dex

I got the tab s8 plus yesterday also and I love it it works so well. I went with the plus for the amoled display and boy it does not dissapoint.... so happy and the keyboard is great to type on. I wish apple did the same thing with the pen though. In this day in age it should be standard.

Dude you have no idea how versatile and loaded wiTh features this tablet is. I have the tab s7 and is so smooth with that adaptive 120 refresh rate, Dex is on another level and the expandability through sd card or other accesories through type C connection is excelle t...This tablet is made for productivity and does not hold you back unlike apple which you have to get certain accesories in order import or export files.

Loved the video. Maybe a video showing what accessories worked with the Tab 8 vs the iPad? I would also love to see some pro apps that the Tab 8 can take advantage of as well and maybe explore a little bit more of the Dex mode? For instance - can you run 2 instances of the same app? Might be super useful when using an internet browser and studying for students! Or 2 instances of Excel or google sheets. Just some ideas!

Trade in deals in the U.S. are insane for pre-ordering the new S8's. They gave my -$500 trade in credit for my old iPhone 8+, so long as the screen is not cracked and can turn on. Can't wait to try out a premium tablet, I've mainly stuck with the basic iPad 10.2in 7th gen-9th gen.

The keyboard for ultra is better bc it has a huge trackpad. As someone that has an iPad pro and Tab s6 now ultra I can confirm literally every feature you mentioned existed even on the tab s6. Welcome to Samsung. I think you will love living in both worlds.

I have the Galaxy Tab S7. I use it for a lot of things. Including as a Tabata Timer. I have recorded some of my fitness videos also with the Galaxy Tab S7. The Tab S8 is cool though. Maybe I’ll buy the Tab S8 myself later.

My use case for dex mode is grinding multiple android games simultaneously. Dex is super useful even when using it with a laptop.

I'm interested that you liked it! I am interested in that tablet and will be waiting for your content. My main interest is that how does the multitasking work on DeX, how well does the tablet handle apps and games, does it force close apps on DeX mode when it runs out of memory etc.

I've had 6 app windows opened at the same time and it works fine. Apps force close when they are terrible programed. The Tab S8 also has 8GB or 10GB of RAM. Plenty.

I really love the direction Samsung is taking with Tablets for Androids. Maybe will ditch Apple with S9 next year. For now, the tablet lacks more serious pro apps like Apple, a desktop browser with extensions, thunderbolt and that famous Apple care. Four years of Android support still falls short of Apple’s commitment plus the waitin for an OS update falls behind Google’s experience.

There are quite a few browsers with extensions on Android. Kiwi browser, my favorite, you can literally install any extensions from chrome store.

Samsung care+ is literally apple care but a 100$ cheaper. Also in Dex mode, it runs the desktop version of Chrome. As for pro apps, if you only want certain apps then yes, android's pretty limiting. But if you only need the functionality then you can probably find 5 apps on play store that do the same stuff.

You have to sign in the samsung account both on the phone and tablet. From there you can enable calls from phone to tablet and your phone will ring and you can answer the call without having to touch your phone. You can also share stuff between the phone and tablet also, like pictures. If you have any galaxy buds earbuds like the pro or 2 you can swap listening from your phone to the tablet or vice versa. Another cool thing is if you watch a movie on your tablet and the phone rings you can answer the phone and after youre done go back to the movie on the tablet.

Could you test it with some photo and video apps, please? Specially, Lightroom mobile and Lumafusion. Samsung's presentation mentions Lumafusion for Android. I'm just not sure if it would work on this S8 you're testing or just the S8 Ultra.

There is a Keyboard from Samsung with a Trackpad for the tab s8/s7, it's the same Keyboard, so if you find a sale on the tab s7 keyboard don't worry about it not being for the tab s8. On Samsungs Officiall Website it is listed as Tab S8/Tab S7 keyboard cover.

I bought an iPhone 10 and a Galaxy S9 back when they were first launched. After years of use the S9's screen is messed up with a lot of burn-ins while the iPhone 10's screen is still immaculate. I just upgraded to the 120hz iPhone 13 Pro, I've used high refresh rate smartphones before but nothing beast the iPhone's implementation of 120hz.

I currently have the iphone 13 pro max and have had the S21 and pixel 6 pro before this and i can 100% say the 120hz implementation on the iphone is absolutely garbage, half of the apps aren't even 120hz, it feels like a roll of the die as to whether whatever new app will be 120hz or not. There's also a random bug that makes the entire phone 60hz and nothing will get 120hz back until i restart it.

Same here. I was going to trade in my Tab S7 256GB for the S8. After the s8 arrived a few days ago, I decided to keep my S7 and send back the S8. BTW, if you reduce or turn off animation on the Tab S7, it's flying faster than the S8 with the default settings.

I got my tab s8 as well. Mine turns the blacks into brown whenever I turn up my eye comfort shield. Does yours do this? For my old tab s7 plus when I turned up my eye comfort shield the blacks still stayed black

This is interesting, I've never owned an apple product in my life, always Samsung. My tab S6 has been amazing and I'm due a new one these S8 tabs in a few weeks. A few of my friends have thrown their istuff in the bin after using my Samsung devices lol. The case feels horrible but my s6 genuine case which looks like the one you've got, has stood up to mega abuse without any damage over 18 months of me throwingit around. Will you ever go back to apple after the tab?

Dex is also in Samsung phones. When i got the iPadPro M1, i got disappointed that my note 10 plus was more powerful than it was. On dex mode you have multi windows open just like a desktop.

they dont have 2 cameras, there is only one at the top on landscape mode, only the s8 ultra have 2 cameras which also is on the same side.(at the top on landscape mode)

Check out aircommand and the new Samsung notes with smart select and Translate. The reason why I use a Samsung Tablet for years. For Photoshop and Movie editing I use my Macbook Pro anyway.

Can you play games with a controller? from my experience, you used to not be able to do that natively on android tablets and had to install 3rd party software for controller support in games which was not a pleasant experience.
