A hunter’s dog fell dead next to an ant hill. The worker ants rushed to each other, yelling “there is a strange and massive creature in our territory! It is like an ant, but big and strange!” Some older ants looked at the creature, and noted that it’s foot is similar to those that have crushed other ant hills, ones they have made to get stomped on and avoid being crushed themselves. Some brave ants approached a bleeding wound in the dog. One said “this looks like the cracks of a rock!” Another noted “it is like the holes of the ground.” A slightly better informed ant surmised “this is like the breakage of exoskeleton, it could possibly be a wound.” As they explore the innards of the dog, they found a living flea, living on the dog before it died. It sighed and said “this is just a big creature that used to hunt for other giant creatures. Do you think they crushed the ant hills because they care? They just didn’t notice because of how insignificant you are.

I believe what constitutes a 001 proposal to be an attempt to explain the source of anomalies and anomalous phenomenon. See the proposal wherein a fey tree starts handing out superpowers. In that one, a race of Fey started affecting reality after not having done so for the majority of the renaissance, industrial, and early modern eras, thus making anomalies like the abdominal planet and that one unnoticableness hat, or the terrasque or the neck-snapping statue.

@@monsterno.definablenever.3484 The factory proposal explains the origin of the foundation rather than anomalies, and the "When Day Breaks" proposal is just an apocalyptic phenomenon. While 001s often try to explain the origins of anomalies, Palisade seems more in the vein of S Andrew Swann's proposal, which is a meta article citing an extra-dimensional group of horror writers as the origin of anomalies, breaking the fourth wall by referring to IRL authors. Instead of explaining all anomalies, Palisade is more subtle and self-referential, using a foundation project to explain the sprawling multi-canon of the SCP Wiki, including new articles, edits, 001 proposals, tales, other canons, and even adding its own apocalyptic anomaly which could be seen as an analog for article deletion.

What I am getting at, is that the Worm is the representation of the moderators of SCP wiki. They are "destroying" any entries considered to be with sub-standard quality...therefore, effectively "obliterating realities with defects." Therefore, by creating inferior worlds, ie. spamming with boring or cheesy entries, they are keeping the mods occupied, and effectively preventing other entries with rather somewhat dubious qualities from, 'destroyed.'
@justinlast17953 жыл бұрын
No, the Worm is very much a real entity, in this timeline. It's Uroboros, the cycle of life, the very thing existence stems from, it can erase what it wants, because all realities, are simply an extension of it. This is what happens when anomalies and alternate timelines stack to such a degree that the Elder God's of Chaos decide it's time to clear out the clutter.
@endy08343 жыл бұрын
@@justinlast1795 no not really, at the end its revealed to be nothing more than a simple weapon, used in a war we don't understand, its not even that good of a weapon, like a thrown rock, so in actuality, its not an entity of great power and size, we're just the weak ants who understand so little that we believe it to be much more important than it actually is

so the OP here is correct. The modetators of the SCP Wiki are in all essential cases- "thrown rocks" in the grand scale of humanity. There are other people with much more influence or power or dealing with much more important projects, thus the guns, tanks, and nukes. In the grand scale of Humanity's existence, a simple moderator of an online wiki are nothing but ants compared to those who control entire countries and yet those moderators can cause massive impact on the SCP Multiverse- but not nearly as much as a government aiming its sights at destroying/silencing/controlling the SCP wiki. Do i understand this correctly?

I think the worm would be more of a representation of some "real reality" event damaging scp wiki page or servers hosting it...like an all-out world superpowers cyberwar... and the fallen giant, would be different stories that people would tell on scp wiki referencing or being a metaphor for real world events connected to that.

Remember the game "Snake"? Where the snake chases around dots in an empty space? Dots are usually round. Round shapes can represent a 3D sphere in a 2D space. Planets are spheres mostly. Each universe could be a big sphere, as it's most important parts are mostly spheres (planets, suns). Now let's go back to the Snake game. The "snake" is called a snake, but it could be a worm. Afterall, it's only a line that gets longer with each dot eaten. This 001 author just described a really fucking detailed Snake game. Fucking hell.

What I think about this is that the Wyrm represents when a canon falls into obscurity and is forgotten about. In the eastern fantasy novel I Shall Seal The Heaveans, there's this godlike being that fell dead from the sky. In the earlier parts of the story people were fighting and killing each other just to get to the being. Eventually it turns out that the being wasn't even that strong compared to actual gods; he was just another soldier who fell fighting in a war.

What if we (breaking the fourth wall) are the worm, clearing out each scp timeline as non-canon. However, within the three walls of scp, they call us the worm, and create new scps and timelines. Timelines with higher integrity are the ones with multiple stories like the kaktusverse. Maybe im just too drunk and need some sleep.

@livingshadow4939 Жыл бұрын
@@Xero_Kaiser his true form is a fucking god. Scp 682 true form is arguably the strongest scp to ever exist. The scarlet king would bow the fuck down if he saw the reptiles true form, and the beings that are fighting a war are far below sk and their rock is far below them and the problem is far below said rock. @Novice_Maker3 жыл бұрын
This is the first scp reading in a long time to actually scare me. I've had nightmares while listening to these, but this is the first one that actually made me scared. Something about the WORM, the imagery, the depravity of creating millions of alternate realities to try to save your own reality, but your own reality is just as meaningless, just as worthless as the others. Forcing reality itself, an infinite universe to just be another brick in a wall of bricks made into a wall of walls. elevating yourself so high that you are the "mainline" just so you feel justified to do this. And all of that is meaningless in a war so great that a simple rock starts a chain reaction that will inevitably destroy all of our realities. This is what Lovecraft feared above all else.

This SCP makes me realize how much I've been wanting a good youtuber such as The Exploring Series to cover the "Crushing Fist" aka Multiverse saga. Most people probably read the most well known story "The Portal in The Forest" without knowing about the rest of the series (you can still read most of the originals free on Reddit Nosleep). It's pretty long and sprawling though and would be a significant undertaking, but I think it's a universe worth exploring, and I think this channel is one of the few that could pull it off!
@grayfiresoul3 жыл бұрын
Think laterally, Foundation. How do you combat or deter the gods above gods above gods from trampling on your anthill? Find a way to become the invisible pit viper in their trenches. Or, engineer the next generation of meta-existential, undetectable land mine for when they trudge across their battle fields. If 'mainline' Foundation assets can create endless copies of multiverses, surely they can create better defenses against the unseen of the unseen, right?

Pretty sure that was the original point of the project. Oopsy. They woke something they shouldn't have.
@grayfiresoul3 жыл бұрын
@@aaronmcmillen8140 Well, no. The initial anomalous weapons projects were for the sake of testing anomalous weapons. They only discovered what they thought was 'the worm' after it began ransacking through mainline and duplicated universes. Turns out it was just a foot soldier in a 'war' they had no direct way of perceiving or understanding. That wasn't their fault.
