The 3D model styles are fantastic. After pausing, looking away then back the initial glance really makes them look like their 2D counterpart from back in the day. It's rare to see games that look exactly like their artwork.

It was announced there will be. Personally I'm a little bummed out that it won't be in Dutch, but the first one wasn't either, so I guess we just go back to English.

Tbf, the Ace Attorney and the Layton games are fairly different The Ace Attorney games are far easier to make a port to PC than the Layton ones A LOT of the Layton puzzles use the touch screen, so they'd have to adapt all of them to make it work on PC + the games in general use a lot of the touch screen, another thing they'd have to adapt

@@guisilva409 on PC you have a mouse, it's not that big of a difference, I've played through every Layton game both on original console and on PC using emulation, the experience wasn't perfect on PC but it was more than good enough and way better than not being able to play the games at all. I'm also pretty sure Kat Layton on switch let's you play the entire game using only a controller if you want, so there are definitely options.

This really looks good! i got some thoughts though, it's sad we probably won't get any 2d animated cutscenes, the city looks much more fantasy and less realistic than the past games, but it still looks good, the only thing that perplexed me is this mixed 3d/2d style, while the 2d parts of the maps seem pretty fine the 3d parts really look low poly and kinda in a more sketchy style, which to me ruins a bit the beauty of layton maps, but we'll see, either the'll fix it or it will grow on me, i'm trusting the vision!!

I'm already in love with this game! Only thing I would have done differently are putting the tick sounds (at 5:11) when you give the solution like in the past games. Still it is amazing!

Thanks for sharing this! Not really sure I like the art direction they've gone with, though maybe that's just down to the funky shading - perhaps it'll get polished a little more by the release? 01:11 makes Layton and Luke stand out so much against the background, like they're over-saturated, and Layton's nose is completely lost in the rest of his face. The vibe seems a little more like LMJ than any of the earlier Layton games, and it'd be a real shame if we lost the 2D cutscenes that gave the games their charm. I do really like the world map though! It seems very similar to the early demo maps in Lost Future. Here's hoping there's much more to see in the final version!

The shadings not that bad at all dude. It's on par with what we've seen with the series since the series give 3D with Miracle Mask. It's basically an natural evolution to that when it comes to fully bringing this series to having legit HD console quality visuals at long last.

Disappointed that it looks like they’re not doing 2D cutscenes anymore, but from an art direction perspective, I get not wanting to switch between two different art styles. And the models are a significant upgrade from the 3DS; for the first time, the 3D style looks genuinely good on its own, rather than just a stand-in for the 2D Style for the gameplay sections. I don’t think the character designs will ever look as good in 3D as they do in 2D, but I’m still very impressed by the 3D models here.

It looks absolutely GORGEOUS ! And I litterally cannot wait for the French trailer and hearing again Layton in french 🥹 (his voice actor, Martial Le Minoux is extremely talented). The town looks amazing, lots of artistry inspiration etc, love that 😭🤌🏻. The ONLY downside I see really is the absence of 2d animation for the cutscenes / cinematics. To me that was one of the fundamentals of the Layton games, with the puzzles of course. To me, Layton is 4-5 things: - A puzzle game : And a good one ! Hard one sometimes ! Made for adults as much as for the kids ! - ✨️Good characters : with a backstory, a charm, and characters that you remember. And why do you remember them ? Because ⤵️ - ✨️A good scenario : Layton Games to me are like movies or series in terms of scenario. There's a case to resolve, you have plot-twists, some emotions, drama etc. Usually you like Layton or for the Puzzle concept, or for the scenario / plot. Personnally I love Layton mostly for the plot side. AND SO this scenario aspect is enhanced by... ⤵️ - ✨️Amazing visuals, especially 2D animated cutscenes : Of a quality that I rarely saw somewhere else, with a true Level 5 dna, very fluid, god you had some cinema scenes in your DS, right in the palm of your hands ! I mean, We got a FILM out of the Layton universe, it means something ! The 2D animations are a PILLAR of Layton to me. And it was extremely unique amongst all the other video games ! And to complete this cinema-esque aspect ⤵️ - ✨️Absolutely stunning musics and OST that honestly, I think are amongst the best video games OST ever created. This is "real music", orchestral, a LOT of different tracks, for EACH game. They suit the game ambiance, and Layton musics are clearly underrated in the gaming community. They are film soundtracks for real. => Layton games are an a cinematic adventure. (I could talk about this for hours I swear) So yeah, not seeing my 2d cutscenes... that is THE disappointment for me. But you know what, as much as I'm super sad about this fact, I am almost equally pleased by the 3d animation style of the cutscenes. Yep, I prefer 100% the 2d animation, but if we get 3d animation, "at least" these 3d animations are wonderful. Very laytonesque, detailed (except maybe the characters face, but it's a demo), has this Level 5 dna, unique artstyle still (the 3d almost has a "2d hand drawing" texture to it ♡) And I litterally cannot wait to see them in my French dub version. And you know what ?! Who knows! Maybe we will have some 2d animated cutscenes, that they don't show and that we will discover with such a wonderful surprise ! I keep hoping 🤗 and above everything, I cannot describe how much I WAIT for this game 🥹🧡🎩

I really liked the wire puzzle, it's very satisfying how it just logically solves once you see the trick to it. But that just makes me feel like that first hint was pretty bad honestly. Rather than guiding you to think about the right things to move forward, it was just "here's half the solution" and it's trivial from there. And on the first hint too! I hope this is just a demo thing… not like I plan to use hints a lot, but I hope they'll still be able to convey the main points of the puzzle. This one definitely didn't.
