the game looks very nice! and much more convenient than the original, since you dont have to longingly look at things you can't gather lol. i hope people who were attracted to how it looks kinda like animal crossing aren't turned off by the fact that it's not that

Seriously, WTF had them whinging on about that? Terraforming...character or house customization...or just the "cute" look of the avatar sprites, I wonder? Methinks those types of players need to branch out of their comfort zone and try new gameplay styles more often.

Job choice always felt intentional, I didn't mind it being a little stiff. You have something in mind, pick the right job/equipment for the task, and then head out. That being said, I don't think that hotswapping jobs will really hurt the game in a meaningful way, it's just a different design choice.

Thank you! Im so excited for this! I know the delays are frustrating but I would much rather they put out a game that's finished. Ive been getting really tired of games releasing for full price and not running correctly until they get multiple updates sometimes months later, or very clearly have storylines or mechanics that were cut or minimized dueing development and it shows. Id much rather have a fully fleshed out finished game on release. I love Level 5 and I'm so excited for everything they have coming up. I wish theyd bring Yokai Watch to switch in English but they already seem very hard at work. Maybe after this releases. This looks very true to the older game. The upgrade music and sound effects are super nostalgic. I'm so excited! I hope they know that the only reason we get frustrated is because of how excited we are, wnd that we all still fully support, are grateful for and love them!!

They haven’t said who voices the characters in the demo yet, but it seems like Yuki Kaji is reprising his role as Glenn from FLO. A lot of the characters had voices in Fantasy Life Online, so I think that most of those ones will have the same VAs.

Maybe its nitpicky but I hate that so many cozy games have such flat lighting. Yeah its saturated and cutesy but it looks so unfinished and sterile when there isnt enough contrast. It really needs some deeper cast shadows and more atmosphere/depth imo...

I don’t think it’s nitpicky at all as I agree. To be fair, this is demo gameplay from what I played at the Tokyo Game Show, so it’s hard telling how far along the game is/was. Even with that said, I think it would be a bit tough for Level-5 to make too many more changes before this comes out in April. At least on Switch. Maybe they’ll have a better looking version on the Switch successor whenever that arrives. Anyway, thanks for the comment and checking out the video! - Danny

I completely understand that criticism me personally i really like how the game looks simply because of how much better it looks compared to the 3DS version the difference is night and day, King Goose the biggest FL channel showed a comparison of old footage vs new footage with more shadows and less lighting effects.

They expanded the map they had, which was slightly larger than FL1 with separate screens, to a completely open world map that's 8 times the size of FL1's. That alone is a ton of work and we don't have a clear idea what else has been worked on and polished.

@@KingGoose Yes. The version FLO used was god awful. It sounded like a beta version of the song- it had NONE of the kazoos, rubber duckies or even the sliding whistle. This wasn't a style choice either, because they kept the silly Job Anthem with the duck sounds.
