Crocodiles are powerful apex predators, but it doesn’t mean they always come out on top. Some animals give them a run for their money and sometimes even defeat them. Sometimes they’re just having a bad day and things don’t go as expected. Do you think crocodiles are always successful when they hunt otters? What about big cats? Let’s find out together as we countdown 15 times crocodiles and alligators messed with the wrong opponent.

Baboon
A troop of baboons can challenge even a big cat if they organize themselves but, in the water, against a crocodile, I don’t know how well they would fair. The attachment between a mother and her newborn baboon is quite profound, and they have a daily pattern that is like ours. Baboons are highly adaptable creatures that can be found in a wide range of settings in Central Africa. In this video, a smaller crocodile has snatched a baby baboon, but its mother jumps the crocodile and doesn’t give up until the crocodile lets the baby go which it eventually does, but the damage is already done. The mother baboon walks away with its baby in its arms, mourning its death. You can see in this video what I mean when I say a troop of baboons can manage to defeat a smaller crocodile.
Not all the baboons are courageous enough to jump the crocodile, but a few of them are gutsier than the others and once they go for it, the others join in the frenzy. This next clip shows a baboon fighting for its life, trying to get out of a crocodile’s jaws. I must say, the baboon’s strength is impressive considering the crocodile’s pressure is immense. The poor baboon gets away, but it looks like it has some serious injuries to deal with and there are no hospitals in the vicinity. Finally, a Grey Langur had its arm trapped in the jaws of a Mugger Crocodile while drinking water. The battle lasted over an hour as the monkey fought for its life. Later, the monkey was able to free its arm from the jaws of its assailant. However, during the fight, the monkey broke its limb, which can be fatal in the wild.
Wild Boar
Wild boars are powerful animals that can move quickly. In the event of an attack, adult males' canines may cause severe injuries. However, when going up against a crocodile, the odds are against the wild boar. The crocodile is just too powerful, especially if the confrontation takes place in the water. In our first clip, this crocodile gets out of the water and sneaks up on some baby hogs. It looks like it’s going to be a cakewalk for the crocodile, but the entire family comes to the rescue and prevents the crocodile from approaching the youngsters. In this next clip, a bunch of wild hogs is in the water and an alligator approaches them.
The humans are throwing food close to the alligator as if they want one of the hogs to be ambushed by the alligator. A seriously deranged bunch of humans if you ask me. What had to happen, happens and the alligator attacks the hog, leaving it no chance. I don’t think wild pigs have a chance in hell against a crocodile or alligator attack when they’re in the water. Finally, this warthog pulls a few dances moves a la “James Brown” and manages to escape the grip of this mighty crocodile

Lesser opponent? Nearly all the things in this list have adapations to fight them off, or are just humongously larger. Felines are literal apex hunters from a different line, as capable killers as they are. Wild boars on land are already on a fight on a comparable level with their tusks and numbers. Non human large primates are considerably strong. Baboons are the cute ones in this list, and they still pack a punch (a single one will beat you up, it will beat up most people who aren't in peak physical condition). Buffalo or bison are herbivores, but hardly mere prey, or less, they're small tanks of strength, without the water and sneak attack, a croc is begging to get ragdolled into the air. Hypos and elaphants, they're armored that can actually run incredibly fast for their size (hypos run faster than the average sprinter, elephants they're nearly as fast as usain bolt at the 100m record, except they can dash for much longer). Very feel genuine weaker and prey animals in this list.

Yep, I saw the "Rivers of Death" video. The only way a croc can hunt a Hippo is when it's dead, Two Hippo bulls go at it and the loser is severely injured and is going to die; the crocs knew it was going to die but they were not fools to take a bite it while it's still alive but only when it's surely dead like a vulture.

The thing with domestic cats: their reaction time is incredibly fast, faster than a crocodile and WAY faster than a human. They are small, which grants explosiveness and good agility. They can easily jump away, dodge and hit enemies with insane speed. Edit: some people also mentioned they go for the eyes, which I completely forgot. It's true. Cats are able to identify an animal's eyes, they communicate with each other using eye winks and paired with their speed and agility they can do a lot of damage to the eyes.

The only time the crocodiles lost was when it was a young or small crocodile. For example with the Jaguar, the only exception being the tiger, but tigers are absolute beasts. I’m starting to love crocodiles, they are such gentle beasts. Chilling in the sun all day and they look awesome.

Pretty sure Jaguars are on par with tigers. Jaguars have, pound for pound, the strongest bite of the big cats although tigers are better in overall strength and unlike most big cats jaguars go exclusively for the skull, not the neck or underbelly. Not to mention they are really good at swimming. Scary good at swimming actually.

A fully grown Tiger or Jaguar will take down a 15 foot croc or alligator 9 out of 10 times. The big cats know they're in the water & wait for them to surface then they strike. Once the big cats jaws are on the neck or head its over for the croc or alligator! Tigers are so intelligent & so strong its really not a contest! It's game over for any animal incl. a Lion!! Tigers are literally the best hunters out there except those with guns & that's not a fair fight!!

I fought a rooster once, all I did was shoo him away at 4:00 am , the baby was just weeks old and I had to be up at 6:00am for work, that rooster was so loud woke everyone up. Went outside broom in hand just in case, it had rained, I had on boxers and slippers,no shirt. I went to shoo him with the broom but he wouldn't move so i tried again a bit harder, this time he jumped on my face, knocked down in mud and it was on. He did kicked my butt though, had three cuts on my neck and face, scraped elbow, twisted ankle and a swollen wrist. I was lucky to get out alive.

Crocs and gators can be between 6 inches to 12 feet. What's their usual size?
@TempyBoyDweetIBT
@TempyBoyDweetIBT 2 жыл бұрын
@@royslapped4463 Well since most reptilians vary in size, I will only use the average size of American alligators and crocodiles. The average size of an American Aligator is usually in the range of 10-15 feet in size, but that is only the case for males as females are smaller, only 8-9 feet (2.6-3 meters). For Crocodiles, the average size range for a male is 9-13 feet (3-4 meters). Note I'm not trying to start a war in this comment section please let me know If I am wrong and I won't flip out

The electric eel encounter with the Cayman was interesting. The electric current was left to rip through the Cayman for quite some time as though the electric eel was aiming at leaving a lasting impression on the Cayman. It is unlikely the Cayman will want to pursue an electric eel from then on. That was intense re-education happening right there.

The most interesting thing was that the mouth of the one biting onto the eel tensed up and pressed down on the eel harder, much like a human grabbing onto an electric fence. The eel literally took the gator down with it
